which tyres put at the rear?

This is a question that I ask for my friend.

If you have 2 old tyres which are 205 wide, and you just purchase 2 new tyres which are 225 wide. Car is R33 GTS-T and with 16" stock wheels.

Which one would you put at the rear? the wider one? newer? older?

If the tyres are the same size front and rear, I'd put the newer tyres (better tread) at the front.

If they are different sizes, then the wider tyres at the rear.

at the back.

At 225 the tyres are 1 inch over sized and will radial roll, besides more rear end traction is helpfull.

I assume he has at least one pair of the 205's with legal tread.

Most tyre places would say put the new tyres on the front, as this will give you more grip and less chance of understeer not to mention what it would be like in the wet trying to steer around a roundabout (for the gumby drivers)

Me, I'd put them on the back
