Here are the official numbers...

9 km/l (11.1 l/100km)for 2.5t AWD vs 10 km/l (duhh 10 l/100km) for 2.5 Di AWD.

Haven't driven a VQ25dd so I don't personally know.

Will check "official" numbers tonight/tomorrow :(

i'm quite heavy on the foot and i seem to get around 450km's out of a tank..

and i am running VERY rich :ninja: (plops quite alot)

once the PowerFC gets installed it should bump that figure up a bit more :P

got my RS Four S down to ~ 10.5L/100kms of 95% highway (to the Hunter Valley), but averages out to around 13.5L/100km around town (air con always on pretty much)

not amazing, but not too bad

EDIT - pretty much 100% stock car

So these things have a 68L tank? Im getting around 400 per tank, or a bit less depending on how spririted I drive it :)

Also, contemplating a Power FC over an SAFC. Been told SAFC are ok, but not the best to do as it just messes with the true MAF/MAP reading. Take much to get a PFC tuned for economy and WOT power?

Might have to also try this Boost98 :blink:

That's what im running until the new injectors come for the e85. I get the same economy on the 100 octane as the BP98 I used to fill with.

United are the only suppliers left I think.

oh ok i havnt noticed. can you feel any sort of performance gain? and is how much more a litre is it on average than bp98 which is what i use

It sells for around the price of BP 98, I run it to stop the ping I was occasionally getting. I am able to bump up the boost a bit more now, if I want.

According to United, the fuel is at least 100, usually 102 octane.

The standard ecu will probably loose economy with it, my mates XR6t did, due to the ethanol content.

Dont you dare put a SAFC on a 26 unless your really stripped for cash.... Its not hard to find a power fc for that car. Do it once do it right. You;ll find many stag drivers get the safc sitc combo as they have an auto and are restriced to computer changes with out spending big coin :)

E85 would be best, and at 99c bugger the economy. Lucky the M35 has an 80 liter tank. :devil:

Works out about the same anyway.

E85 is 25% cheaper than PULP98 and you use ~20-25% more of it.... but it is much cleaner and allows for a much more aggressive tune :)

Hmmm, well for me it works like this:

More boost = :) = more boost = :huh: = more boost = poor fuel economy :)

I'm still getting a minimum of 13L/100kms driving to work and back (at least 40% of the trip is spent cruising at constant 50 or 60km/h - so not exactly heavy traffic). If I drive it how I like to drive it, its closer to 14L/100km. Not a big difference...and the driving satisfaction outweighs the extra fuel cost IMO. :)

    • It's something we all have to consider as time marches on. Also consider lifted rally MX5 conversion at that point.
    • I should be fine for a few more years, whilst I do have arthritis I also exercise and do mobility training every day to keep as fit and healthy as I can, military life, which is the actual cause of most of my joint issues, has set daily regimes, which I weirdly enjoy I also train alot smarter now, not really focusing on lots strength or puffy muscles, I'm more focused on maintaining what I have for my future older self, I actually train as much mobility now as I do exercising Check out this "simple" drill I have been doing daily prior to training now for a while now, this has worked wonders in my all round mobility   
    • I'd say one thing that may make you sell is the same reason the guy with the hard top roof sold his. He got old, and his back was giving him too much grief stopping him getting in and out... Old guy said he was 73! He looked and sounded younger than 73 to me! Or maybe I'm just aligning with old people more...
    • Already looked at a few prior to getting the MX5, really nice car, had all the mod cons, but I wasn't really sold on the new "look" I did miss my 2017 Limited, and I personally prefer the "look" of the older car over the new model, but, when pondering I kept going back looking at MX5's But it was same same for the new ND's, I wasn't sold on the new "look", especially the RF with its weird roof, which only half goes down, like a targa top sort of thing As I stated before, I did look at NC's, but the cars I looked at were PRHT's, but I didn't like their roof line "look" of the PRHT, until I saw the soft top version, (someone on SAU posted a for sale ad for one with a soft top that caught my attention, you can blame them for my choice.....🤣) and.... that old style detachable hard tops were available for them, which keeps the old MX5 more smoother flowing roof line, and the more rounded body style, similar to the NA-NB, to me, the arse end of the ND looks to "modern" Much like how I prefer the NC1 front bar, over the later models How long will I keep this car for is unknown, but currently, there's nothing else out there that "floats my boat" for a small, fun, little "sports car", that I can play with and enjoy looking at and driving But, who knows what the future holds, and going off current new car styling, if I replace it, it will be a older model something something
