with my insurance, only if the illegal or non permitted mods contribute to a claim will they void the insurance...

It's in the legislation re contributing to an accident. However undisclosed stuff is a different matter altogether. Ie. If a company can prove they would not have insured you had that said mod (or whatever) been disclosed, cover is void.

give GIO a try. im paying $180 a month (around $2200 per year), the car is covered for $18k and under 25 (21 to be exact). worked out alot cheaper than JustCar.

as for mods this is what i got told from GIO:

IF your car is hit by someone because of their lack of awareness whilst driving (old person) then you get the payout from the other guys insurence.

IF you hit someone lets say at night because your tint is too dark and you didn't see them then they might NOT pay you out (they'll pay the other guy's costs). same as having 3rd party.
