today i was so happy to get my 32 on the road. i got to vic roads and everything was cool paperwork checked out until the inspector oppend my bonnet had the road worthy in his hand cheaking to see if all the engine numbers checked out and the dickhead who gave me a road worthy cert wrote down the engine number but misstake a 3 for a c the cock head of a inspector wouldn't even change the misstake. he told me to get another road worthy cert and wrote void all over it and made a booking for next tues. next time you get a car registed or in your name when you by a car make sure the engine number is right so it dosent cause hassles

ouch which vicroads was that?

Had similar story at burwood,

Didnt rego the car because the tyre brand on the rwc was different to the ones i had on!!1

Car was complianced/rwc'd with standard r32 wheels although sale included aftermarket rims so drove to vicroads with them...

Luckily he told me to take it back, get wheels swapped over and come back in 15mins.

Came back and didnt even check the brand of tyres just said yep lol

I had the same problem once, one tyer on the complience sheet didn't match the one of the car...

The complience people made a mistake on as they wrote 230 or somthing -_-

Straight away i rang the complience people and made them get another one ready, as i had to go

pick up another sheet because vic roads wouldnt accept a fax too them from the complience place!

Got it regod the same day!

Just take it back to the guy that did the RWC and show him the mistake. Im sure he'd write up another one then and there without charge.

...i hardly see how this is VicRoads fault.

the point is that its a hassle for an obvious mistake by some1 else who should know better. Now he has to wait another week which sux.

Yer it sux...but how is it VicRoads fault?

They have a job to do, and if someone doesnt provide them with the correct information/paperwork why should they put their ass on the line for someone else?

LoL @ waiting another week. BooHoo

hey guys.. just on that note with the registering ur car.. ive got a r32 gtr but is abit of a show car also.. at the moment its unregistered and im in the stage where im about to get it ready to start driving around however i need to get it registered! now if ive got a fiberglass dash with tachos siting in it and also its got airbag suspension.. if i do somehow get a roadworthy cert for my car and do go to vic roads to do the insp (which i am told all they check is the actual id of the car as the inspectors themselves are not licenced road worthy inspectors) do u think i will have much trouble as in them asking questions about those mods, like would they check for them and actually like perform an audit on that mechanics road worthy? thanks guys would appreciate some input on this

i cant answer your question sorry but damn a 32 gtr with bags!! can you post pics??

It's good to see someone at VicRoads is doing what they're paid for.

Agreed.

Sorry drodi, you've got nothing. Thats correct procedure.

Its like any form of paperwork. If its not filled out correctly, its deemed to be invalid.

Thats life, move on

truth hurts... but he's right.. as much as they seem like pricks thats their job..

same as getting a parking fine... can't shoot the messenger

burwood guys but the guy was a real dick about it

was your inspector a fat old grumpy guy?

As i returned back to my compliancer/seller he told me he has had plenty of troubles with him haha. Something about when they import a new car, they need a vicroads person to inspect it before they can import more or something. Not too sure on the laws lol

    • So we have most the interior back in, and for the first time with one OEM speaker hooked up. The 31 is running, driving and now tunes!!! Hahaha yet another step for the sub that sat 10m under for two weeks!!! unbelievable really 👌 lots of love work and not giving up on her. Seen so many youngsters part way less, and in way better condition. I’m stubborn, thinking another problem is just a hurdle to overcome, One at a time. IMG_9277.mov
    • That is correct. I'm using a modified ABS ring and a ZF speed sensor on my rear diff for speed input. I'm running a Haltech ecu.
    • Been busy with the newborn. We originally thought we were going to go for a third, but we're good with two lol. He's starting to actually sleep now so I've had some energy to work on the car. It's been parked away in the garage since late November due to winter.  I went ahead and redid all my head oil drains. I originally had my front and rear head drain going into the same pipe but have since split them up. I also added an Ethanol content sensor to get ready to run E85 this summer. Tossed it on my return line. Sensor sits nicely under my intake manifold.    I also have a lot of parts that came in for my rear end. I'll be swapping over to a 3.3 final drive and doing the GK teck anti squat mod. While the rear subframe is off, I'll also change every bushing. We're planning on buying another house soon with the condition that I get at a minimum a 2 door garage, so I'll wait to have more room for this. Now onto the strange things that recently happened... After changing the lower rad hose (It had been sitting in my cabinet for well over a year and was the last hose I had to replace), I let the car idle in the garage to bleed my coolant. After running for a few minutes, it started missing. Got much worst within a minute or two and then stalled and would not restart. My crank sensor decided to crap itself. No damage, no explanation, just died. I went ahead and replaced it with another ZF sensor but the heavier duty stainless model with a shield. Tossed that in and started right up. Has anyone else seen this? I hate when things fail without cause. Luckily this was a blessing in disguise... This lead me to recheck my timing. It seems I may have had a beer or two the last time I had set my TDC angle as I was off exactly 5 degrees... I miscounted a line haha. I was running 5 degrees less then commanded. It's a little embarrassing but helps explain why my dyno operator seemed to think I should be making more then 478rwkws.
    • Sharing results from recent Liberty Walk R35 GTR, since they are still considered as somesort of a V36 Skyline. We do them turbos too. • Nah no bearings, just slip fit.  Would be a reasonably challenging but not impossible job to modify it to run bearings but I'm hoping that's not necessary as I may have well built one myself if I end up spending hours modifying it!
