I have gotten quotes from a lot of places and for timing belt only it does seem to be around the $500 mark, But i am getting timing belt, tensioner, idler and water pump changed for $250+ GST (labour). It does seem a lot but it isnt an easy job for people that don't know how to do it and it is a vital part of your cars service.

So, how much did U end up paying, $500 or $250? what included in that labour cost?

Cheers

NorthShorePrestige a import car dealer quoted me $200 for normal service plus $100 for timing belt then also suggested to change water pump at same time so another $50-$100... For $500 I would say it is steep if just for timing belt.

Go ask the coasties where they get theirs done surely on the coast there is someone cheaper who knows what they are doing I think Anna (MsNismo) got someone in Gosford to do it for her.

heres the costs.

timing belt. 95

coolant 25

waterpump 75

sealant 10

and roughly about 2hours labour @88/hr so.. wich is $381 not making any money on parts. so 400-500 is on the money and for those workshops only doing all the above for 250 there loosing money so unless you give good head or something its way to cheap :nyaanyaa:
