Any Chance Of A V35+ Specific Forum?

It's not the end of the world if we don't have one, but at the moment there is a small subculture of us communicating via emails, msn and pm's.

I run across a number of issues, fixes and tips every week, and I guess it would be good if we could target a specific group of enthusiasts with our info.

Currently g35driver.com is the place to be, but it is very frustrating sometimes not having someone local to discuss with.

I don't think it will be a particularly large area, and happy to help out with the moderating.

We did discuss a while back having an R32/3/4 but we decided against it because they are all so similar, but the V35 is so much different to the others that I think having its own area is a good idea. I will discuss it with the other mods and get a feel for what they think but I think it'd be fine.

I wanted to do a write up on all the info I've found out since owning the car, things I found out simply through trial and error.

There is very little to no info on v35s (in english), so a specific area where info could be found for new/ current owners would be extremely handy.

Like right now for example, I've got my car sitting in the transmission place because nowhere in the world (besides japan) has the appropriate info on my car.

I would def be prepared to dig in and give a hand if required

If there isnt a R3-2/3/4 section. Why does thee need to be a 35 one?

Fair enough for other models like Ceffy's which arent skylines, but, well the others are.

Otherwise as each new model (36/whatever) will get its own one aswell. And then R3X owners will ask for thier own and it turns into a little mess.

Personally, i vote a no from my view at this stage. But thats just me

I understand where you are coming from and if I didn't own a v35 I would probably be of the same opinion. What you really need to take into consideration is the difficulty alot of the owners of the 35s are having with gathering information. For example I recently had to replace my front rotors and due to the lack of available info (and difficulties faced dealing with nissan Australia) it came down to a bit of a guessing game. Now if I had somewhere to go and find this info the whole process would have been that much easier (so I could get back to enjoying my car rather than wondering if I'm shelling out cash for a part that may not fit).

There is a wealth of info/parts available for previous models so a specific forum for each model would be pointless. But unfortunatley, and I wish it wasn't the case, that is just not a reality for the v35 at this point (especially the gt-8).

We are not asking for a forum/sub forum so we can isolate ourselves from the skyline community, in fact the reason why we want it here is because we wish to stay a part of the community (rather than starting up our own forum on another site). Please do not think this will be a place for v35s owners to sit around and go "aren't we cool with our lack of round tail lights", that is not the point of this proposed forum.

I would also like to say that much of the info gathered on the v35 will also apply to the v36, at this point I would imagine future models also.

So as I sit here calling the transmission place everyday, only to find out that non of his contacts in Australia, europe or America know anything about my transmission, I think to myself "such is the price of owning one of these cars". I accept that and am happy to pay that price, but I tell you what, if the info I needed was easily available it would save me alot of time and money!!!

That's how I feel too. Well put. Everywhere I go, no one has any experience(which is fair enough of course) and I've got bits and pieces of info that i've collected through odd resources. And happy to help others and hopefully can call on them when required.

Great idea, I dont understand why theres sections for ceffys and stageas and not for V35 SKYLINES this is Skylines australia after all

Add another one to the "Yes Please" list.

I can see the point about no seperate sections for the 32/33/34's, but the V35 is a completely seperate kettle of fish.

Almost every aspect of the car is different to the R series. Advice given in nearly all the seperate forums, such as the N/A forum, suspension forum, etc will not apply to V35's.

The V35 is becoming more and more popular.

Maybe if there was a "V engined Skylines section", rather than specifically V35, or "Skylines 2002 Onwards" as more than likely all variants in the foreseeable future will V configuration rather than straight 6's.

I just brought the HIGH REV issue for V35, not too much information but at least has some.

Regarding rotor and break.

I tried to replace them as well, but the workshop is hard to find any replacement within good price range. (You can always source F50 system from jap but them are.................XXX expensive)

At last I get a new set of NEW break pad the front is made in JAP cost $110, the The rear pair is made locally cost $80. Honestly, the local one are crap.

Would like to get our own section and share information with others.

Wish I can see that soon.

Well guys I'm in the process of purchasing a v35 workshop manual from japan which I will have translated to english over here. My wallet is trembling but I feel it needs to be done.

Frank, the rotors that ended up fitting my 35 were aftermarket 2003 350z rotors (non anniversary addition). I use genuine nissan pads which have been great. My mechanic has all the part numbers, will grab them on the weekend.

Please enlighten me - where exactly is this forum? I've been on these boards since they started and am yet to see a V35 specific forum.

I spend more time on G35Driver.com because it is easier to find stuff.

V Series are completely different to the R Series. It is not that we are snobs or anything but it just make better sense to keep them seperate. Nothing carries over between the two models so why put in the same forums?

Excellent executive decision.

V Series is the Skyline V35 from Japan JDM will continue on as V36, V37 etc etc.

G Series is the Infiniti G35 from USA.

For arguments sake the same car with subtle differences.
