Last night it took me about an hour and a half to get home when it usually takes 20 mins, due to major traffic jams on great eastern and tonkin hwy. I just found out what happened.

A motorbike was travelling along tonkin hwy. a toyota was apparently doing stupid speeds and didnt see the bike and ran into the back of with the front corner of the vehicle. the toyota hit it so hard the bike became stuck onto the toyota.

the male on the bike was thrown of the bike with impact.

the female was dragged under the toyota for around 100 metres.

Trucks travelling along tonkin formed a blockade so cars wouldnt hit the bodys and wreckage.

When the ambos arrived then found the first body (the male) and put a sheet over him as he was long gone.

They got to the toyota and realised the female was still underneath it. So the ambos asked one of the truck drivers if they could use his hydraulic lift to get the car off the body to see if she was still alive.

The truck driver didnt seem to think it would be strong enough but he gave it ago.

They lifted it up and... the truck driver looks down. It was his mum under the car. His father and mother had been riding that bike.

Both killed.

That poor truck driver. What a horrible thing to see.

My condolences and sympathies go out to him and his family.

Two people have died in a horrendous afternoon accident in Redcliffe.

A man and a woman, believed to be aged in their 50s, were both killed when the Harley Davidson motorcycle they were travelling on was rammed from behind by a green Toyota Lexcen about 2.45pm today.

The accident happened at the start of the Redcliffe Bridge on Tonkin Highway, near the Great Eastern Highway intersection.

Police said it appeared the car had hit the motorcycle from behind then pushed it forward about 100m to the start of the bridge.

It is understood the woman died at the scene and the man was transported by St John Ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital, but passed away shortly afterward.

Police said neither were wearing motorcycle helmets at the time of the accident.

Major Crash officers are investigating whether speed may have played a part in the incident.

damn.......

thats a f**ked up story.. that truckie will be seeing that in hes dream for years to come.. feel sorry for the guy. hope the driver of the commodore/lexen goes away for it

btw same car different badges.. hard to tell the difference

aww that is terrible...i feel for the truckie...having to see that and having to live everyday replaying what happened is horrible....losing someone is never nice, but seeing it like that is horrific :D

it is never easy dealing with losing loved ones my wishes to him and his family

no helmets?

surely that cant be f**king true !

yeah adoraa - sold my bike recently, Im thinking that perhaps, never know but just perhaps, my kneepain saved me from a bad "off", due to the stupid speeds I used to ride at thru the Hills. never had an accident, but as your skill level improves over time you dont slow down but infact speed up.

wildcat - yeah those sort of replay images in the truckies head will be with him forever. it'll ruin his life. :domokun:

Holey shit i just got a huge shiver after reading that. I cant even imagine what the poor truckie is going through.

There is a way that allows you to not wear a helmet
