Yeah top work dan..

Benm... Tyres didnt like the treatment, once warm they where okay, but a lap later they where to hot and just didnt grip. Was fun anyway, I would not call it drift.. More like sliding around, so I emjoyed it. Went for a session with dino (who is a top notch instructor) and worked more on my technique. After dino's lessons I was hammering around alot smoother and using the track more.

Brakes Held up 100%

Tyres I think need to be replaced

Car performed perfectly!

Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

was there a white bug eye sti that blew engine yesterday? it came to our workshop (scuderia veloce) only to find out his warranty got rejected... aftermarket exhuast system and circuit racing... NONO for warranty... feel sorry for that poor man...

I think there was one, didn't hear about it blowing anything but then I wasn't listening.

Funny, you would have thought an STI would be designed well enough to cope happily with an exhaust swap (which shouldn't really change all that much) and a bit of track work. But I suppose they only design them just well enough for 40 year old mid-life-crisis candidates to burble lumpily around the city in and make PPSSSSHHHHHHHHH noises at 2000RPM shifts.

(note, I'm not showing brand favouritism here even though I laugh at wrx's weak gearboxes - I'm just being cynical at how cars and a lot of other things in life are designed these days.. ie cheaply. sigh).

Great day, good to see a bunch of old faces again, i'm going to have to do this more often!! (although i don't think i can justify driving each time)

DAN - thanks for taking me out a couple of times, showing the RIGHT line and the DORIFT line - loads of fun :D

I think i took out 1/2 the life of my new tyres.. the mrs won't be impressed! oh well, means i can justify track tyres :D

Oh and yeah, they did get you waving

oh - someone wanted laptimes - well i only had my last (i think it was 4th) session timed (thanks Dal) and the best i did was about 2:01 (with 2 2:02s and a 2:03 thrown in)

Hey guys,

Was my pleasure to organise as always.

Am really hanging for the incar footage from the prankster... will it be long mate?

I took my "drift" tyres off when I got home and noticed that I might have done a bit more damage than I had thought!

The result of drifting turns 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, and 12!

    • What I’m saying is that I never heard of a non gtr 34 coming with a cooling panel stock or factory option. Maybe they might’ve I don’t know
    • Yes, at least 10 years before anyone ever thought of making such a panel. Of course.
    • I bought one for a 32 and it was junk, found its way into the bin
    • have a look at the other 2 stock rubber strips marked in blue. As you can see, they press against the cooling panel and leave marks. If the cooling unit panel isn’t there, the strip press against nothing therefore have no use. So Nissan was thinking ahead when they manufactured the cars, as they must’ve known people will install the panels in the future. Otherwise think about it, why else would they be there? Therefore that in itself directly infers that cooling panels do something. It might be to stop water and stop some air from going above the cooling panel so more of the air can be redirected between the cooling panel and the front bar towards the condenser and radiator. I tried to take a pic of it while the bonnet was closed but u can’t see shit in the photo
    • @DraftySquash @Duncan i misspoke, or this might be the other way. someone sent me a low res pic of it on It might completely close off the gap in red like in the second pic (second pic has gktech cooling panel on) .The 3 holes are for the plastic rivets used to secure down the front bar. The outer holes on the radiator side go underneath the condenser brackets If thats the case then there’s going to be no air going in through the grill between the bonnet and the bar for the radiator and condenser. Isn’t that bad? I mean less airflow to the radiator and condenser is all I’m saying
