Got a pair of adjustable whiteline swaybars from a race team for my 33 gtst. They tried them and needed even stiffer so my gain. Fitted the front bar no probs then removed the rear bar. Surprise surprise. the ome bar has horizontal eye bolt holes whilst the whiteline bar has vertical holes. I also note that the rear bar on my car is the same diameter as the whiteline product. (fronts were noticeable different) We did my mates car last week and his oem bar was as thin as spaghetti.

My car is fitted with the alsd option so I can only assume that it also has the gtr rear sway bar setup, Hence the different mounting holes and the thicker diameter.

Can anybody shed any light on this?

You need to buy the rear Whiteline link pins. When you buy the bar from them it comes with it.

The bars may look to be the same OD now, but if the stock swaybar is that thick, it is hollow. There is quite a bit of difference going to a solid bar of the same OD. eg. A 25mm OD R32 GTR swaybar offers around about the same torsional stiffness as a solid 19mm swaybar.

hey noel, yeah you'll need the pins.

also the mounting position on the blades will affect the settings, so it's not entirely based on bar thickness.

i got mine through repco at trade price but i gess you will be looking at around $70. i had rang them in the past and if you just ring them and say i need links for my swaybar they will tell you that they will be $150 because they some how get a price on the rose joint style swaybar links. all you need are the normal ones that come with the kits from new. get them to ring whiteline and ask what length they need to be as that varys from car to car.

    • Um. No. Since Matt introduced the TIM it has become a lot easier to deal with the consequences of changing K for AFM and injector swaps. Then, tuning is a f**king doddle. No-one needs to know or care how many grams of air are flowing or any other bullshit. Need more fuel in a cell? Add more fuel. Need more timing in a cell. Add more timing. Need to adjust any of the other tables for warm up and so on? No harder than anything else. Sure - it's not an ECU system for starting from scratch on an arbitrary engine. But then.....it was never supposed to be, not recommended for, and almost never used that way. So.... On your engine, in particular, Nistune/Nissan OEM is about as sophisticated and difficult as banging 2 rocks together. Those ECUs are primitive and simple. There is nothing difficult there. I learnt Nistune from scratch, created new maps with extended axes, interpolated/extrapolated the original maps onto them and tuned my RB20 (basically the same ECU as your 26 ECU) all by myself, more than 20 years ago. And that was long before even TIM.
    • Set of knee pads for a R34. Will fit every model I think. Comes with everything except the rubber covers for the bolt holes. Still in great condition. You will need to drill holes to mount these or use double sided tape. I can do free shipping and will be shipping from the Netherlands with tracking.
