Modena
I installed a new turbo back exhaust on my R33 GTST and I found that when I fang it right up to 7000 RPM then back off, as soon as it backs off to lower revs, I hear this slight pop off sound (almost like a slight fart) that the car gives off... just wondering if its all ok. I run stock BOV and otherwise the car is stock. Its also auto. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/168579-zorst-question/ Share on other sites

Modena
i get it and love it. its unburnt fuel exploding in the pipes yeh? So the fuel runs through the turbine and explodes after? Me thinks not... Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/168579-zorst-question/#findComment-3118399 Share on other sites
Gazee
So the fuel runs through the turbine and explodes after? Me thinks not... he means its unburnt fuel cos your car is running a little rich at that high rpm, obviously would run a little rich cos its not designed from factory to be kaned.. but its normal... not sure how it is when you have it tuned Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/168579-zorst-question/#findComment-3118466 Share on other sites

I got the JJR Hyperflow Turbo Back Exhaust, stainless 3 into 3.5 inch System from Just Jap. I can try and record a sound clip later on. Its loud between 2000-3000 RPM but when cruising on cruise control at 100 KM/h its virtually silent... my car is auto too. jake33
So the fuel runs through the turbine and explodes after? Me thinks not... i didnt refer to fuel running through the turbine! reffering to the exhaust.... its getting pushed out when on the accel. then when changing gears or off the accel it pops ( like back pressure). well mine does anyway... im sure its very common. Ah cheers, so theres no real drone when cruising at 100km, would it be possible to record from inside the car the next time your cruising at 100km if you get a chance. Majority of the driving i do i highway kms so really dont want droning Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/168579-zorst-question/#findComment-3118830 Share on other sites

Majority of the driving i do i highway kms so really dont want droning Ill try my best, give me some time. But yeah the most drone you get is when you rev it between 2000 and 3000 rpm. When crusing on the freeway its virtually silent, basically like the stock exhaust... this was my worry before I got the exhaust as I didnt want it to drone when cruising at 100 KM/h... no problem at all... And you get used to the drone after a while at slow speeds, infact Im enjoying it now.. and my GF doesnt mind it at all, says it sounds "tough."
