NismoGirl
I really don't understand you people. You's sit and whinge behind your computer screen that there's not enough meetings/gatherings excetra, but I've got two events on the go at the moment, and only three people have responded to both. If you's really want to get this thing happening, get off your arses and attend some meetings. NOthing's going to be handed to you on a silver platter. I've spent a lot of time organising the drive in movies and I've also spent alot of my own personal time liaising with the owners of the carpark trying to get us a place to meet. If no one turns up to these events that I'm organising, I'm really going to give up and not bother with this anymore. slip
Once I get my car back, and we finish the official club stuff off, I will be getting back into organising events again, I have been a bit slack lately, for a number of reasons. Your effort is appreciated Erin, if you don't want to organise events, thats up to you. [ABU53]
I agree totally with Slip (mainly coz he is using mind altering drugs on me). But seriously, I see where you are coming from Erin, but not all cruises / meets will be wee accepted by everyone. Its a shame yes but it happens. Try not to let it discourage you too much. locutus_of_bris
I can only agree with Slip. Once the club is up and running we may be able to get more interest, commitment and team work from people. The Sprint days are a prime example. Many clubs have championships for events (which can include all kinds of things, like sprints, drags, show and shine, cruise, and general attendance). So far the count at any event mentioned in the events forum here has been fairly low to non-existant. I know its early days still, and I know people have very good reasons, but I tend to think until the club becomes official and there is a structure things won't change much. That aside, stay positive about this. We have a good variety of events happening (official or not) and it should cater for all types and interests in this club. I'd love to see more people at the events, but it's up to each individual to get involved. The only thing I can say is don't be backward in coming forward. As NismoGirl has said, get off your butts and come along. There is more enjoyment to owning a performance car than you may imagine. SmoothLine
Erin, Although we have had our disagreements in the past, I can honestly say that your efforts are always noted and appreciated by most people who post in the qld section. Dont get disheartened and keep up the good work... Smooth. PS- i see now there are more than 3 posts in those threads so its all good. kryz
I think people just lurk/don't post or are too past to post their support, let alone physically turn up and support things.
