Final Edit.

If you want to enter now please just turn up on Sunday from 8am to 10am. We will have entry forms and pens to fill them out!

Postponed to Sunday 1 July.

Toyo Tyre and Rubber Australia are proud to present the Skylines Australia Show'n'Shine 2007.

dteam.jpg

The 2005 event was so big that it took us two years to recover. Back then we had 97 entries to an event that was, arguably, hard to get to on the central coast. This year it will be in Sydney and I hope you can all help us make it bigger than ever before. Autosalon - ha, Godzilla - no wai!!!! This will be the biggest Skyline event ever!*

6fuaohz.jpg

Let me start off by giving you all a synopsis of what it's all about. In a nutshell, it's about participation. We want to have the most Skylines entered into an event ever. To do this you need to put aside any feelings of inadequacy you may have and get polishing. This is the best excuse you will get to get your car to it's absolute shiniest and best.

Yes there will be prizes. Toyo Tyres are giving away a complete set of new tyres, Just Jap are giving a Brand New Kakimoto Racing Exhaust System, or store voucher to the same value which are among the prizes being given away by our many and varied sponsors but that's not the whole point. The point is that you all come. I don't want to see Skylines in the carpark, I want them in the show.

The reason why previous SAU Show'n'Shines have been so successful (double expected entrants on both occasions) is because you are joining in with the SAU community, your SAU friends and all other enthusiasts to celebrate your most prized possesion. Am I right? Am I right? You don't have to tell me, I already know. Who understands why my car needs 8 hours of rubbing, tugging and hugging from me every other weekend? You do!

66njd53.jpg

Ok, here's the format; It's a bit of an early start but that's just so we can get all the cars in and parked before the general public arrives. We have a nice big grassy area to spread ourselves around on. Cars will be parked as directed but only so as to make sure we all fit. You can park with your friends or as far away from them as you like. It's best to arrive in groups if you want to park in groups.

We have 13 sponsors who will be setting up stalls/shops/demonstrations for you to peruse throughout the day. Pick their brains or line up your next mods. Thank them for their generous donations to the Skyline cause. Browse their wares generally.

One of the great things about this sort of event is talking to other Skyline owners about things they have done and learned about their cars which you can apply or you can teach others. You might say to someone that your oil cooler doesn't seem to be too effective. That someone might say oh you need ducting like on my car. Then you can go and check it out. It's all going to be there for you to check out. Having trouble finding a spot for that new gauge, I bet someone there has one in a spot you haven't thought of yet.

So where is it? Granville Park, in Granville of course. It's just south of Parramatta on Woodville Road next to the Maccas there so you can't miss it. Very central.

GranvillePark.jpg

When? Sunday June 17. Cars arrive from 8am and leave about 3-4pm.

What's the go? Participate!! Also we will be judging all the cars.

* Absolutely no research was done before pronouncing this rather ambitious statement.

Does it cost?

Yes it does. $10 for current paid up Skylines Australia Club members and $20 for non members. This is a nominal fee to cover costs. We are not doing this to make money.

How do I enter?

Well I'm glad you asked. With great thanks to Links we have for the first time ever, an online entry form. Click here to go to the entry form. You can pay with Paypal, credit card or direct deposit. We would very much prefer if everyone entered via this method however there are other options.

You can print off the form which you can download from here SnSv2.pdf and either fax it to 9237 0814 then direct deposit. Use your rego as the identifier.

The Skylines Australia bank account details are as follows:

Bank - NAB

Branch - Marrickville

Account name - Skylines Australia NSW

BSB - 082 356

Account number - 546 393 766

Alternatively you can print off the form and post it to PO Box 7 Broadway, NSW 2007 with your cheque or money order.

Lastly, you can enter on the day. If you do this it would be great if you already have the form printed off and filled out. Just remember, we are all volunteers and the more entrants we have on the day the harder our job is.

Who are the awesome people that are making this possible?

Well for the first time ever we have a naming rights sponsor. That's why it's called:

Pro Coat does HPC style coatings on exhausts, turbo housings, manifolds and more. Not only can they do stealth black coatings and coating that are purely preformance oriented but they can do some pretty lurid colours on some hot surfaces that will not only keep the heat in (and therefore reduce engine bay temps) but looks great too.

Keep your eyes peeled for a group buy on some of their services shortly.

Xclusive Colours. Louie has to be one of the best spray painters in Australia with numerous Autosalon winners to his name. He is too busy being an utter perfectionist to put up a website so I can't link you. I have been out to his workshop and spent a whole day checking out what goes on and I can tell you he is a master.

The crazy thing about him though, is that he is one of the cheapest paint/panel guys around. Give him a call on 0413 581 099 or see him at 2 East Street, Granville. I know for a fact there will be several Skylines entering the Show and Shine that Louie has painted. Come and check them out.

img_link_banner10.gif THE CONCEPT

What can I say? I have Motul 300v in my engine right now (and before you ask, yes I paid for it).

Sliding Performance. Sliding Performance are known for two main things, they do cheap but very effective highflow turbos and they import performance parts sometimes found elsewhere but cheaper. Their biggest seller is Splitfire Coilpacks for your RB engine for $579 delivered anywhere in Australia. No one else can compete.

Check out their complete catalogue at www.slidingperformance.com to see how much money you can save.

As for turbos, bang for buck they have to be about the best there is. If you want to know they work, check out their sponsored cars here - and here.

Just Jap. Located at 101 Bath Road Kirrawee, Just Jap have a massive range of new and used parts for your Japanese Import. They also have a massive online shop located at www.justjap.com.

They also have some very experienced staff and use their own products on their race cars. Steve has just come back from Targa Tasmania after another successful finish. Nothing broken. :O

Brad's Custom Trim. If you're on the coast, you don't need go to sydney to find show quality trim work for your car, bike, boat or whatever. In fact if you're in Sydney you might just find that after viewing some of Brad's work at the Show and Shine, you will be heading north to get some work done.

With over 13 years experience in the trimming trade, you can rest assured that you have made the right choice. Their experience and dedication will give you the best, show stopping, award winning interior.

Brad's Custom Trim can cater for all your needs, be it a full re-trim in a restored vehicle, custom or your work trucks seat repair, they've got it covered. Feel free to browse through their site to get a full idea of what they cover. There's plenty of pics in the gallery.

Whiteline Automotive. Whiteline are not the only suspension people in the world, nor are they necessarily the smartest but no one offers better value for money performance outcomes across all budgets. Being a solutions based company, Whiteline support all their products with technical fact and quantifiable results and will happily tell you why it does what it does and how it applies to your situation. They'll even offer training and show you how it works.

Suspension is not unlike any other area of performance mods, at best you get what you pay for but at worst you get even less. And this does not mean spend a lot to get a lot. You can spend a moderate amount and get 99% of the way there if you deal with people that know what they are doing. This is even relevant in the area of trade and wholesale as Australia is increasingly seen as a competitive source of smart products and solution that offer exceptional value for money.

Whiteline are an Australian company and have been making suspension products to suit Skylines AND Australian road conditions for years. Check out the High Performance Imports article on the R34 GTT from 2002 which is located on their website.

High Performance Imports. And speaking of HPI, who could forget the preeminent publication related to, well, high performance imports! The magazine has been at the forefront of the scene since it was launched way back in 1998.

Don't forget the equally well known HPI DVD's though. Almost every import enthusiast has one or two of these in their collection. For when seeing the cars in the mag and reading about them is not enough, see them driven, hear that awesome boosted sound that we love so much.

HPI also keep the records for Japanese cars in Australia running treaded radial tyres. Note that times recorded with methanol or nitro-based fuels are not included. Check them out here.

Unique Autosports. Located in their new workshop at Unit 1/20 Tucks Rd, Seven Hills, UAS has been a long time supporter of the club. UAS sell, repair and modify just about anything to do with high performance Japanese imports. They even sell these cars from time to time.

They do far too many thing for us to list them all here so have a look at their website www.nismo.com.au for further details. In particular check out the parts catalogue, dyno centre and service centre links on the left hand side for idea just how much coverage of the market they have.

Achtung!

Toyo Tyres are very kindly donating a full set of Toyo Proxes 4 tyres to one lucky entrant.

632qcnr.jpg

Currently financial Skylines Australia Club Members will get two tickets in the raffle to win the tyres while non members will get one ticket each. So as far as raffles go, the odds will be very low and you have a real chance of winning a new set of tyres.

This is a pretty big prize so rather than giving it to the "Best" car, we are keeping the fun of the day intact by giving them pretty much randomly to an entrant.

You gotta enter the show to win 'em!

WTF33R will be there in her shining best. Please ignore the gutter rashed rims, i bought them like that!

P.S: I have rescheduled my 22nd birthday party so i wouldnt be hung over and be unable to display WTF33R, this may be her only show appearance as she may be on the market soon.

ill be there... helping and entering... spose i had better get to work on shit then huh :)

so mean... makin me spend money...

;) 4 weeks from today!

i dont think i can make enough money in 4 weeks...

what to buy, what to buy...

CANT WAIT ! :)

Sounds awsome, i think i will enter so my car is not in the car park, just to keep abo bob happy :)

yep, he's promised to debadge and key every skyline parked in the carpark thats NOT entering. So if your car has 10 year old worn looking rim or faded paint job, who cares.....just enter it. Just don't give him an excuse to molest your car :)

)

Hey guys,

W&B Automotive Photography may make a full showing, 2 possibly 3 photographers on the day to cover the event for SAU.

We can also offer our services as a prize to one of the winning cars if the organisers would like. Organisers, just shoot me a PM.

There may be a snag though. I have something that may be going on during that weekend, which will keep me away. But we'll see what's happening closer to the date.
