Hey guys..

Lately in particular in my 33 I've noticed how badly the hicas effects control of the car when drifting..

When off the brakes in second gear crossed up, every LITTLE movement made from the steering wheel completely

shifts the rear end in and out! and i hate it! Its just way to responsive & rapid and makes it hard to judge and know what

to expect.

I went for a session in my mates 180sx which has the lock bar, so no HICAS and i felt the car was so much smoother

& un-surprising!

How many of u guys have lock bars in ur 33's and how much of a difference did u feel???? Give me the good & the bad.

umm. ok, yeah it doesn't *help* but it's not there for no reason...

..for instance... DID YOU KNOW....

...that HICAS is actually there to STOP the car from drifting? you may find yourself asking "why stop a car from drifting?

and the answer is...

... because the cars were not designed with drifting in mind! YEAH! who'd have thought, cars weren't designed to be driven sliding sideways...

in actual fact, card are designed to drive in a straight line! and turn using it's steering!

but yes, jokes aside... if you intend to drift you gotta lose the hicas... and try buying a car that's not a 33 lol

Joe - thanks for the link >_<

no worries mate.

Has anyone had their lockbar fail on them?

I've seen a few cheapo ones twist on drift cars.

yeah, a mate of mine bought one off here a while ago, the welds cracked (wont mention who he bought it from).

drifting is not the fastest way around a track.... its fun... but meh...

whats that got to do with the price of oil in iraq?

Personally i havent slide without my Hicas yet....but that will soon change as of hicas bar going in very soon.

should be interesting to see the difference.

though with hicas it tends to be a bitch to to keep in a slide.

You know why? I'll tell you why...

...it's because your car was not made to slide sideways.

If car manufacturers wanted your car to drive like a crab with downe syndrome then they would have attached trolley wheels or made it a hovercraft.

There is a reason that skylines have the battery located in the boot, it's to cause balance and weight distribution to create a nice handling car.

There is a reason that HICAS is there. it's to STOP your car from going sideways, it's called a safety feature

Am I the only person who thinks drifting is kinda gay and destructive to cars? it's slower than driving straight, and it costs a lot more.

what's the next craze to take off to destroy your automotive investment? driving head first into a brick wall?

fast and furious brick wall

...I can see it now... "whoa dude did you just see that pro jap driver slam into that brick wall?"

" yeah man, he's really talented, he's really progressing the nature of this art."
