R32 Popping Noise At High Rev

Hi I drive an r32 gtst RB20det and when I rev up above 4000/5000 rpm there's ALOT of pooping noise and Im losing alot of power. I've tried replacing my coil packs and also air fuel meter but that didn't solve the problem. There are oil in the pipe conencted to my pod filter could this be the source?

change the spark plugs as well.

do a search for what spark plugs to use here.

Try re-gapping your plugs to 0.8mm and try again, I had a similar problem and re-gapping solved it. t...lt/thumbsup.gif[/url]

yeah I'm using 1.1mm atm... so I guess I should go try the 0.8mm?

was the model NGK BCPR6ES08?

also does the oil in the pipe connected to my afm and pod filter mean anything?

That oil could be blow by. If gapping the plugs doesn't work, it could be a boost leak.

I dont think you can get the BCPR6ES pre gapped to 0.8???

If your after a pre gapped plug then look at R5671A-8 which are (depending on mods) or go with the 6ES and gap them yourself to 0.8

Blow by is when air and moisture is forced past your rings into your crank case, on higher boost it'll usually force oil in there too.

Are you running a catch can???

i had the same prob with the rb25.

boost leak-maybe but it should misfire all the time not at higher rpms...is the misfire getting worse or staying the same

coil packs-are you sure you swaped with good ones

spark plugs-can always use new ones

i would def try to change the plugs first unless you have good coil packs that you know are good.

my main prob was the coil packs along with the plugs and the boost leak

Have you checked your fuel filter? may also be leaking injectors or a pump problem. pull out your plugs and see if ti is running lean or if they are fouled
