Ok, I had a search and found a crap thread on this.. which didn't help me at all.. So I thought i'd take the effort in starting a thread which hopefully can be stickied.

Once the correct info is posted in reply to this thread I will change this first post into a little write up.

1. definitively clear up which bulb types are used for the R32 head light

post-19264-1179472536_thumb.jpg

Which bulbs are used for 1, 2, 3 and 4?

2. Provide a proper (picture) guide of how to take off the head lights.

How do you take the head lights off? There are a total of 4 bolts is which i gather? And is it necessary to take the front bar off?

Cheers, Ben.

Ok so anyone want to clear up what types of head lights there are and the differences in bulbs? adams is H3C and rekin's is H1?

How do you tell which type of head light it is if they look the same etc etc? I will try and post pictures of the older r32 headlights so we can clear that up too..

And still need to know how to take the headlights out.. and if the removal of the front bar is absolutely necessary...

Cheers, Ben.

And as for removing the headlights..

I'm assuming you have to remove these dam head lights to replace bulbs as theres no room for you to do so with them in place.

Also:

For bulb reference:

There is no easy answer for that question.

Some people have H3, H3C and H1's.

Probably changed lights during the age of the car.

Mines October 1993 so it was one of the last made before production finished. As there are no 1994 R32's.

My friends 1989 R32 had h3c globes.

Anyone with a series 2 R32 (1991-1993) have H3C or H1?

Cheers

sept 92, H1's.

There is an easy answer. Check what you have before buying new ones. If the light doesn't work and it's day time, it doesn't hurt spending 5 minutes to remove it before driving to the parts place.

The bulbs can be accessed while the lights are on the car.
