Carpet Spray

Iv got my roof liner out and i was going to get it redone in black as it is grey, but now iv been told i can get carpet spray any 1 used this and does it work??????

dont bother. it works but its better to get it re-trimmed. you can actually tell its been srayed coz you'll never get the entire plush of the liner. the only other thing you can do is get a die and wash the liner in a die to change its colour.

using carpet paint will dry the carpet hard

wont be as soft as the original carpet

also the colour will start to rub off when touching

for the love of god please just replace the material... it wont cost much at all and it will be brand new material you will be able to see that the old one has been painted and it will look shite

ya ... i would say go the fabric but if you must try to dye it then head of to Spotlight for the fabric colors. A few VL restorer's swear by it for fixing faded velour.

if u wanna re-trim it, easy as pie, using a contact adhesive in a spray, spray the liner then lay the new material on it and using some sand or dirt, put it on top of some plastic on the fabric to apply even pressure over night. next morn, remove sand, curl ends around and using a short profile staple, fasten it down or use the glue again with tape as this part isnt seen. and done. will look heaps better.

On my r33 sr1 i just removed all the plastic around the liner(cliped on) then removed the covers of the sun viser's,miror and the cabin light to get to the screw's. Unpluged the wire to light and 4 clips holding the liner up then she was removed.
