hey guys. ive just installed a 2510 on my car and everything is sweet bar one annoying thing.

there is a hole on top of the exhaust housing on the turbo. its just after the flange (where the turbo bolts to manifold i.e T3). i'm pretty sure its for some kind of sensor, i'm thinking exhaust temp.....

problem i have is i just wanna plug it up but i cant find a bolt that fits. ive tried everything i can get in both imperial and metric. i have also thought about just having it welded shut but IF it is for a sensor than its prob not best and i dont really wanna have to take it all off just to have it welded and im a little concerned about fragments of metal falling in the exhaust housing if i have it welded with the turbo bolted up.

does anyone know what the pitch of the thread is for that hole? its a real fine thread. OR if it is for a sensor, what sensor is it for and where could i get a cheap second hand one just to plug the hole???

Cheers - Ryan

Should be 1/8 BSP tapered

I thought egt sensors are normally 1/8 npt? who knows.

I have the same problem although i have the old sensor plug still in there that leaks a bit, so i want it blocked off.

I must admit, i have no idea what language you 2 are speaking.

Can you elaborate a bit so i can go into Mitre 10 and get a bolt to block it off?

I took the sensor out and went into Bunnings and they couldn't match it, so back in it went.

Thanks dudes... :)

hi,

i have a set of greddy gauges including exhaust temp. sensor and oil temp sensor. All are 1/8 PT (it`s slightly different from 1/8 npt). I also have a greddy sandwich plate installed under the oil filter. This sandwich plate has two 1/8pt holes for sensors but closed with plugs.

Find someone who uses this sandwich plate with at least one sensor -- he must have one spare plug. Use it :domokun:
