Well, finally after a lot of shopping around, I've bought my Stagea from a dealer in Melb. I've asked them to put 12 mths rego on it ($620) in which once I re-register at Regency I will get a refund of what's remaining. I checked with Vic Roads about that.

So look out for a(nother!) Silver S2 Stagea by next weekend!

Just to comment, I found it odd they said you would need just an identity check as any car that is complianced here in Adelaide would have to go to Regency for a full inspection. Therefore you would expect if it were complianced interstate, and not registered, then it would need Regency to check it. Very odd.

He said the dealer was going to put 12 months reg on it in Vic, So therefore he only needs to get a identity check at Sturt, Not even Regency!!!

even better if they could put it in his name over there, and then he wouldn't even need to get it checked thety just swap it over to SA(is this right Heslo?)

Sorry, I was reffering to the R32 issue with compliance and no rego.

If the car is registered in Victoria in his name, yes that is correct that he only need to go to Motor Reg, no inspection required. A friend of mine bought an S15 in QLD, had it in his name in QLD and when brought it here, just off to motor reg. No inspections required.

According to the "technical" person i spoke to from Regency, if the car is fully complied from another state and not registered, "technically" it only needs an identity inspection. But he did ask me if the car is stock. I'll bet if your car looks even remotely modified they'll pull you in for a full inspection.
