about a month ago the car start pulling the the left slightly when youd let go of the steering wheel, about a week after that it got worse, last week i went and got a wheels alignment because they told me that it would fix the problem, go the car back and it helped a tiny bit but it still pulls to the left?

any one know what this could be a result of?

cheers

Is the road perfectly level, or does it slope down to the left? If it slopes, then of course the car will steer down there - gravity being what it is.

If you can find a similar but 2 lane road, check what happens in the right hand lane.

Check that your tyre pressures are even too. Do you have caster adjustment? If you dont the wheel alignment wouldn't have done too much to help the pulling.

But yeah, the car will always pull towards the camber of the road.

Post up your wheel alignment specs if you can.

lol i dont know what the specs of the wheels alignment were, tyres all have same amount of tread and all have even psi in the, iv tried doing it in a double lane whilst on the right hand side and it still does it, will probably take it to another tyre and suspension place and get it fully checked out

I have the same problem.

on a straight road.

i release the steering wheel, the car will start drifting to the left.

I just did wheel alignment and balancing.

why?

If you release the steering wheel, it's following the camber of the road.

If you have to drive up the street with opposite lock on, then you have a problem.

a) A heavy right foot :)

b) suspension issues.

Mine pulls to the left and it's my HICAS. Did you get your wheel alignment done with the engine running?

Having your engine running when you get a wheel alignment will make NO difference.

Do you guys have caster adjustment on your cars? The car will pull to the side with less caster, if they are even, it will pull towards the camber of the road. Uneven cambers have a similar effect.

And how trust worthy are the places doing your wheel alignments? Chances are, your run of the mill tyre shop will have no idea what they're doing.

Post up wheel alignment specs so we can see what's going on.

i think mine is my hicas aswell.. for some reason when i go around a corner a little fast and the back slides out a little it tends to veer off to the left a little... but usually its ok.. could be paranoia aswell lol

Mine does it too even with the alignment perfect. I have all standard alignment bits, with toe set to 0 at the front and -2mm each side on the rear with hicas removed. Everything is even side to side.

Im sure its the car following the camber of the road, and i think the wider and stiffer tyres you have the more it will do it.

Although, if yours pulls to the left when driving on a road sloping to the right i would say something is wrong, thats pretty extreme!

I really doubt that hicas has anything to do with it in most cases, it only works at above 60ish km/h, below that it stays centered. If your rear toe is uneven or set way off what it should be then the hicas will just make the problem worse when cornering at high speed.

    • Yes...but look at the numbers. There is a tiny tiny fraction of the number of Joules available, compared to what is used/needed. Just because things are "possible" doesn't make them meaningful.
    • Thanks for taking the time to post that ! If anything changes or happens please do update us.
    • Somehow Vertimass/Oak Ridge National Labs has figured out a catalyst that can convert ethanol into C9-C10 hydrocarbons in basically a single step without ending up with a bunch of ethylene or similar waste products: https://patents.google.com/patent/WO2023224867A1/en I still don't think anything like this will keep us from needing to transition to EVs regardless along with all kinds of other electrification, but things like this will go a long way towards alleviating the problem of how to electrify things like planes. Renewable diesel is seemingly an easier problem as well, Chevron is already running refineries for the stuff and the primary feedstock is tallow and other waste fats from agriculture.
    • Ok so I have sorted everything with my uniclutch and  i can offer up a bit of feedback and some things that might help others.    I found problems with factory damper line. Weird shit and had trouble with peddle adjustment    I used this https://au.gktech.com/products/r33-gts-t-skyline-braided-clutch-line?_pos=2&_sid=22b01b9b9&_ss=r Also when adjusting peddle leave a bit of play. You can get into a over stroke condition easy.. Make sure you can push the slave forward after adjusting to confirm fluid can return to master then you will need to pump it up heaps…..not sure why but that’s how it is.    last thing the splined adapter is machined perfectly. If your input shaft is old like mine was I would put a bit of valve grinding paste on it and stroke it like a 15 year old. Just to give it a tad more clearance and to better match it to the spline.    reason is on a near flat shift I have had situation where the peddle returns a millisecond after you lift from the clutch. No slip or anything but I reckon this is due to tolerance on the spline being way tighter than stock clutch and binding for a sec. I think this will go away but also my spline was old. Box is old so I guess I should have checked better. It’s a super neat fit.    it feels light as and holds awesome without any noise
