Which Car Inspection Company For Interstate Buyers?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Im looking at buying an r34 gtt 4 door from queesland...

Pretty stock and all.

What i'd like to know is, are there any well priced businesses out there you recommend for a car inspection?

obviously there is RACQ, but do you know of any shops that would go and inspect?

**changed from melbourne**

Cheers

Kieran

if you want a mechanic who knows these like the back of his hand and will tell you straight out give CREATD a call and speak to rob or daniel

if its pretty stock, i reckon an RACV check will do. just go to www.racv.com.au and look for the 'pre-purchase' inspections.

last i heard, racv and nrma and those kinda places dont know much about imports and stuff....best to take it to a proper tuning shop. Id only use RACV and stuff for ordinary cars (eg, if i was going to buy a honda civic for daily transportation etc) - just my 2 cents though :D

thanks guys!

emsta, i do tend to agree with you on this one.

i wouldnt think RACV (or RAC over here) would know a great deal about these cars and where their problems usually occur.

but nevertheless, i'll give them a call, get a quote. same goes for creatd. thanks lthlrb.

also, the car is in Bentleigh.

okay...may have changed my mind - what about brisbane shops/companies?

Try "State Roads" they have offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Gold Coast and will do on site inspections of vehicles 7 days a week.

They specialise in imports, and are very thorough, and it's only about $130 if I remember correctly.

Their website is www.stateroads.com.au

Hope this helps.

Best thing to do is pick a mechanic who is well versed in turbocharged cars and more specifically skylines. You will find the likes of RACQ in Queensland know f*ck all about imports. Most genuine sellers would have no problems driving their car to a mechanic for an inspection based on the fact that a buyer is ready and willing. I used Brisbane Turbo and Tuning when I originally purchased my car. Still use them to this day. Plenty of people will probably disagree, but the point is find a good mechanic and get them to do your prepurchase. If they find any problems - you can usually get a quote to correct and then negotiate this on the purchase price.

You'd be better off posting this in the QLD section - will get more views by locals and therefore should get you the responses you are after.

Good luck.

Bec's on the money.

Find a local Skyline specialist tuner, talk to them about what you need and be prepared to pay a few $$.

Been and done before and purchased sight unseen. Haven't got caught with any nasty surprises. Living with known issues but that was my call.
