As topic states, i am interested in knowing what my rear diff actually is? i have tried to search this site and have found nothing but confliciting statements. im so sick of single spinners. Is the factory rear diff in this car a viscous (like the gtst) or like the gtr a mechanical diff.

My car is a 1993 manual turbo r32 gts4.

thanks

The R32 GTS4 runs the same 2 way mechanical as the GTR does. Only difference is its ratio. 4.375:1 vs the GTR's 4.11:1.

4.375:1 FTW.

I run a tightened up gtr/gts4 center with my 4.363:1 GTST diff ratio. Never single legs it and is perfect with regards to how much throttle is required for it to start locking.

Drive around in tight car parks all day without it chirping/banging and carrying on; unless you give it harder than normal acceleration.

Mines on the blink so unless i can get it repaired i'll be looking for a new one too.

Boss Automotive in Lonsdale. Find out what its worth to rebuild.

Fingers crossed some one comes through with the nismo clutch pack in the other diff thread. Apparently ~$300. + $300 or so in labour. New diff for 600 with some tough nismo clutch packs. :worship:

More than half the price of buying a new harsh aftermarket + fitting. Blows its cost out to almost $1500

Appreciate the info!

I'll deff be confirming that its the diff but either way with the extra 100+rwkw going through it soon i think it would be benefitial for a refresh!

And which other diff thread are you talking about?

Thanks!
