post-38769-1179790657_thumb.jpgHi - brand new to this board. And brand new to me (bought yesterday at auction in Kobe) is what I think may be the only Stagea Autech Axis version in Australia when it gets here? I'll post more later, but here's the spec:-

2004 Nissan M35 Stagea Autech 4WD Axis with VQ25DET motor (206kW, 407NM)

Autech suspension

Autech 18" factory mags

Autech body kit

Fujitsubo sports exhaust

Xenon (HID) headlights

DVD/TV/CD-MD/Satnav

Cream leather trim

5 speed tiptronic auto

Blinkers in side mirrors

Viper alarm

Now waiting on DOTARS to issue the import approval. My buyer says the car "drives like new, smells like new, looks like new". Rated 4 but should have been 5. 47,000km.

Can't wait!

Have posted pics in my gallery:- http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...i&img=61812

As I'm a newbie more advice about posting pics would be great, if anyone's interested in seeing them.

Look forward to advice about performance mods and comments about the styling (I like this car, but sure some will not!).

wow - nice one!

couple of questions thogh, Is it only available in an auto? I thought the main advantage of the Autech was that it was a manual?

Also, what difference is there mechanically between this and a usual 25T X four?

As for photos, you are best using a static IP hoster such as photobucket and direct linking from there, or just upload to your gallery and link the way you have done.

And welcome!

AFAIK auto only. I couldn't find a manual at auction.

There are dozens of different variations of the NM35 Stagea. This one has everything except sunroof. So, same engine / transmission as 250T RS Four V. The Autech contribution is limited (AFAIK) to suspension and body / interior mods only.

These cars are quite rare in Japan, and command a very high premium over the 250T RS Four V. There 's also an Axis S version which has 17" mags, different body kit and less glamourous interior.

As you might imagine I'm like a kid with a new toy, waiting for Xmas! I've got some hi-res pics from my buyer in Kobe and have spoken at length with him about it - goes very hard apparently and presents pretty well as new. Some of the Axis cars I've seen have a little Autech badge on the rear bumper, but for some reason this one doesn't.

I'll be itching to show it off in a couple of months.

Anyone know anything about tuning VQ25DET?

July 2004 was the last of the M35 turbos.

Out of all the M35 Stageas, only the Autech AXIS 350S came in manual from June 2003 to July 2004.

Like has been mentioned there are many different types of AXIS models from 2.5L to 3.5L, RWD to 4WD, turbo and non-turbo, with varying equipment levels. But the Axis 350S was the only MT variant from new.

wat are the differences between the normal m35 and an autech one?

It's merely a styling package with alot of the optional equipment offered in usual Stageas (depending on model) as standard, as an example, the only options available for Axis models were floor carpets, 'neoncontrol' (those little pop up antenna things that help you judge where the left front coner of the car is), and plastic side window visors.

apart from the body kit and rims? how about the engine?

Nothing... it's not a performance variant.
