By removing the community forums, I think that the SAU NSW just took a big blow.. Hardly anyone posts in the general one as they don't want a full audience on what is probably just shooting the shit and chatting with people who live nearby and understand what they are talking about..

When organising a cruise, people might have done it in their community so they didn't have to advertise it out to everyone - this will no longer be available.. However as Adam pointed out, you can't moderate 24x7.. and by the time you do the damage is usually done and off and running..

My thoughts.. Fingers crossed for everyone they come back, but I don't see it happening in the near future..

I think one part of this is users need to be more active in maintaining the forum, and by that I mean using the 'report post' button more often at the begining of conflicts, not at the end.

being a mod at another forum, that button is a frigging godsend to me...

i use it here to have threads moved to the proper area, delete threads or double posts...

it makes a mods job a shit load easier if you use it...

i would now just like to capp things off by saying that after the dust settles from all this hopefully tyhe whorethreads will return minus all the fighting and backstabbing, i personally wasnt involved in the fighting but after seeing it all from the sidelines i felt that something needed to be done, im sorry to those who feel hardly done buy but if this hadnt happened now then things would have just remained uneasy and awkward at events i.e. cruises and social dinners which makes it unpleasant for all.

Yeah, that's what I mean. Someone says something you don't like? Don't reply and escalate it, report it.

And like you are saying Barron - it's your forum guys. Don't shit in your own bed.

maybe there should be more mods specifically for this type of thing - it took Mikey starting a thread about it for someone to really take notice and do something (even if that something was drastic). I would happily volunteer..... I'm sure plenty of others would too.....

Sorry, but thats garbage >_<

Please don't come in here, and accuse moderators of doing nothing. Many of us have exhausted a variety of avenues trying to get the pathetic goings on to stop, and the point across. We have tried pm'ing those responsible, we have tried asking reallllly nicely, we have threatened warnings - Yet it continues. We had a number of members seriously offended some weeks ago, and we had a stack of reported posts which forced us to lay down another warning, clearly stating that enough was enough, and there would be no further warnings, just a straight loss of the whore threads.

Isnt it funny that some people are prepared to ignore and disregard the requests and instructions of moderators, who devote countless hours to maintaining this wonderful place, yet its only when it comes to the crunch and people have had enough and take action, that some people stand up and complain and cry hardly done by.

There is no denying it, with the threads closed, there are LOADS of users who are put out and have lost their avenue for chatting and socialising online with other members, but again, you only have the offenders to blame.

Adam said it well, don't shit in your wn backyard - Pehaps in future, all the users of the whorethreads will be more appreciative of having such a resource, and will watch over other users and their posts to ensure that others arent breaking the rules.

To be honest, im appauled at two people in particular, who I will not name, and the fact another that I spoke too actually said that they wouldnt stop taking pot shots and making immature comments against another member, unless the other party did the same. I havent heard something like this since high school, its totally lame.

Moderators are currently looking at ways to continue to have a community type thread available, and when, and only when we have had the time to work out the best possible solution for all, then you will have your thread back.

Take this as a warning now though, should the thread/s return, a whole number of things will change. There will be no more whoring, no more personal attacks, no more rubbish posts and there will be a 1 warning then ban system implemented for those that just cant be arsed following the simple guidelines.

Lastly, on behalf of the rest of the NSW mods, we appreciate that many people have got their 'foot in the door' so to speak via the whore thread, and I think thats fantastic, however we have had to act in everyones best interests and while the whore area is a 'fairly' laid back area for people to get to know other members, for prospective new forum and club members browsing SAU and thinking of registering, the whore thread as a whole of late has really detracted from what is overwise a fantastic forum, and the comments and conduct displayed by a select few have set a lousy example and leave an impression more fitting to boostcruising or ns.com.

Agreed.

Rest assured that we are considering all users in our actions and also that we have an eye to future users. I am sure that new people coming into whore threads and seeing bitching and fighting would not feel like hanging around. They only will if people are pleasant and nice.

Really, is it up to us to teach people basic manners? I think not.

Blitz and Abo Bob's deportment classes this way ----> (big fee involved)

The obvious reason for all these problems is that every hates Rukus!!

Muhahahahaha

I met most people i know here through the whorethread too *wipes tear from eye* but now its useless to me so it can go!

I don't think this is the greatest P.R for the club though, creating a giant public thread about people bitching. Think it should have been handled in a slightely more subtle fashion, via p.m's to admins etc if there were real concerns. Then possibly it could have been dealt with in a more subtle fashion rather than the deletion of all whorethreads, maybe just the warning of individuals.

Anyway whats done is done, and it obviously was an increasing issue for people so at least its resolved now. Lets get back to a good club spirit.

Next club get-together i vote we all hold hands and sing!!! >_<

I agree this thread is a terrible look.

FYI, the whore threads were not deleted, and warnings were issued, to no avail.

oh and also anyone that has been in the whorethreads in recent months can attest to all the work that the admins have done to try and improve conditions/relations, so these problems are definitely not caused by a lack of action from them >_<

Well then..

I guess they took away my reason for being on this website.

Like Tinks and Primordial have said the Hornsby and Central Coast threads have rarely had problems on them although I understand that if you close one then you must close everything to keep things even. Still, in my eyes I'm rather unimpressed as I am on these forums simply to talk to the community which is the whole reason I liked SAU in the first place, the fact that everyone is so welcoming and we're all friends. I'm sure I'm wnot the only one who is just going to pay SAU no mind because of this.

While I'm aware that you did what you had to do, I hope and would be almost certain that you are aware of how many members you are going to have lose interest because of this. SAU is not just a place to gain information on our hobby, it's a friendly community(at least it is around Hornsby and the Central Coast) and I'm pretty put out by the actions that have been taken. You've given me and many others a reason to wonder why we joined if we can't even talk to the friends in our area.

Sorry, but thats garbage >_<

My apologies if I have offended any mods/execs/admin - I understand your job is not easy and is very time consuming. I do not accuse mods of doing nothing - you have prolly all done everything you can to try to stop it as you have said above Nick, but it appears to me that the people involved should have been banned (temporarily?) a long time ago and given some 'time out' - lets face it, if they want to act like children then they should be punished like children. Unfortunately it has continued regardless of mods actions showing total lack of respect for the club and its members which as a member, I find offensive. Maybe my age makes me less tolerant to this carry on.....??? and I agree totally about the lousy example and impression a newcomer might get seeing this sort of crap which is prolly why I felt the need to speak up when usually I would not get involved.

I know you guys have the clubs best interests at heart and I appreciate it - most of us do - but it is disappointing and annoying to those of us (and I speak for the coasties, newcastle and hornsby threads) who ALL get along, are ALL friends and who ALL know how to behave. I hope those involved realise the magnitude of thier actions.

I love this club and the friends I have made through it. :)

Looks like I missed all the drama..

If people want to bitch and have a go at each other take it to PM. I value the community forum as a way of keeping up with people during the week, although at times the quantity of posting makes it too hard to keep up (that's right.... YOU'RE ALL FILTHY WHORES!!) >_<

so we need

1) less homo fighting

2) cliff notes for geoff

thankyou

    • Howdy friends, So another weird one today, I was looking into replacing some broken clips holding the front grille for the R32 GTR (part number 01553-03831), and noticed the brackets which are supposed to hold the grille in place were also missing 😑. I do recall seeing this issue many years ago, but didn't fix it at the time. A quick look on eBay and I was able to find the genuine brackets, along with all the screws which suited the headlights (part numbers 26042-08U05,26092-08U05). Happy days!....  Once they arrived however there was an extra nut in the packaging which implied that there should also be a bolt or a stud, and sure enough, after a bit of searching I found this thread from 2013, and @Ants clearly shows a stud should be present. Reading around a bit more, it's possible the headlights on my car are the "povo pack" headlights as mentioned by @funkymonkey in this thread way back in 2008. This could explain why the studs are missing on my set of headlights. Looking at the headlight diagram I wasn't able to see a suitable part number for the stud itself. The headlight did indeed have a recess that looked like it would accept a stud, but interestingly no thread or anything obvious how the stud would be affixed to the headlight, I suspect it may have been glued in, press fit, or melted into the plastic at the factory. Another member may be able to clarify if they happen to have a genuine set of N1 headlamps. The only thing we have to work with within the recess is a keyway which likely is there to prevent the stud from rotating within the recess. In any case, back to 3D printing, I put together a model which acts like a pug with a friction fit inside this recess, making use of the keyway so it doesn't rotate while tightening a bolt. Printing in TPU will allow it to slightly swell making a nice snug fit without cracking the part. I've designed the adaptor it to accept an 20 mm M6 bolt (stainless with a cap head in my case), as opposed to the standard M5 stud and I made use of the standard galvanised split washer that came with the genuine brackets from Nissan. Once the bolt and screws were all in place, giving the bracket a gentle shake gave the classic "shaking the car" feeling, very solid, which gives me confidence this is going to be able to hold on much better than the janky solution which seems to have been here for the past decade or so. Overall I'm really pleased with how this turned out and maybe there are more people out there running these headlights without a centre stud at all! • Hey everyone, This is my first post apart of the introduction. I tried searching a bit on the forum but couldn't really get a straight answer. I got the car to my mechanic as I felt it being weak. It seems that it was missing on two cylinders due to the injectors. I had all my injectors clean and the car runs much better. The mechanic also confirmed my suspicions that the cat is clogged and needs to be tackled asap. The cat rattles a bit and the hot exhaust warning frequently lights up when driving after getting the injectors clean. In my introduction I was asked about what modification I might be interested in and mentioned a cat delete. From what I was told, this is not really beneficial on the RB20DE and there are more cons than pros.  Could perhaps anyone give some suggestions on what the best course of action would be since the current cat is toast and needs to be removed/replaced anyway? I can also sometimes smell a strong smell of fuel, but I'm not sure if this is related.
    • Hope the cans went down well at least
    • 255 can't go wrong with the price.
    • When I was replacing my pump due to being stranded in the wrong state, I went with the Deatschwerks 320lph kit. It is a direct plug in to the stock wires, harness, everything. It comes with a plug... but you can plug the OEM plug directly into this thing. https://justjap.com/products/deatschwerks-dw300-fuel-pump-nissan-s13-silvia-r32-r33-r34-skyline-c34-stagea?currency=AUD Downside: Won't actually flow that much on boost if you want to push it on E85, but it's comparable to the 040/255 etc. Little more actually.
