i can appreciate metal drumming for the speed an precision, but its not my choice of music so that is where the appreciation ends.

i like this far more

+1. I lost interest in the whole speed thing as soon as I realised I could do it (with guitar that is). I very occasionally still use some of those techniques but I've lost most of the speed and accuracy and to be honest I not really inclined to get it back either. I get into pretty much anything - numetal

Im more into electronic stuff myself these days.

Electronic has NO limits. You can experiment and come up with sounds that no instrument can make.

Most people that arent really into music would say. ' so you like doof doof' . NO.

Electronica, dubstep, dark house, etc.

Alot of metal I can see straight through. Most normal rock is simple and boring. All been done before.

Lyrics are for the band themselves. I dont know why people have to relate to lyrics.

Really like alot of the 80s music too. Simple lyrics with the old beat machines and bass effects.

this is even better... check this guy out

no way in hell i could do that

-D

That is pretty impressive actually. precise

I'm still waiting for the day you forget to put the -D at the end.

When you do. look out

If you haven't already, I seriously recommend having a listen to an early 90's record by Depeche Mode..... Songs of faith and devotion

cabaret voltaire, kraftwerk, etc are my old favs.

How good is the use of the synths both musically and for effect(s) on "Songs of Faith and Devotion"..... imo genius. British/Euro synth pop/rock was probably at it's finest in the 80's.
