Hi Guys,

Looking at getting a 95' R33 GTS-t's (in QLD) and was wondering when it comes to inspections is best to get someone like RACQ/NRMA or someone specialised in the area like someone who works in a perfomance workshop? Also what would the costs be roughly?

I dont know of any performance centers myself locally and because I live on the Sunshine Coast probably getting the car in a workshop would be a hassle?

Edit: I've only recently moved to QLD, is it compulsory in this state to get RWC/SC's when selling a vehicle?

Thanks

Yes, you need a Road Worthy Certificate for the sale of a car in Queensland - although they have just changed the name of it I believe (a beautiful example of bureaucracy at its best - same inspection with a differently named piece of paper at the end).

I personally would not put too much stock in the RACQ check over - get a mechanic you know (or at least one the seller does not know/use) to look over the car. Unless they specialise in the particular car you are buying I wouldnt see why they have to be a 'performance' shop.

really i got mind done with a guy from lube-mobile. Yeah $88 and he comes to u, this was in helensvale though. He did compression check, he didnt have to, but yeah he did it cuz I asked. Guess i just got a nice mechanic. Go LUBEmoBile! They r cheaper then NRMA check too, and they do roadworthys. THUMBS UP 2 THEM!
