I will chime in here.

I used Intima SR for a track day. and they sucked a big proverbial dick. I literally crumbled them on the track.

QFM a1rm did 3 track days in one set of pads and they stopped my boat much quicker.

So for me the intima pads are "garbage"

The ss would be on par with the hpx, which I now also have and they drive absolutely great for normal street duties.

That is extremely interesting, I myself went from A1RM to Intima SR and found them great.. 2x of my mates with EVOs also went from A1RM to Intima SR and found them better.

Another track wh0re I go with on his 180SX went fro A1RM to Intima SR and found them great too albeit he runs R33 Brembos on his 180SX.

You may have had a bad batch or so.

Help me pick some pads :)

mostly reading about qfm hpx, a1rm and intima ss and sr's. These are the main ones talked about in this thread and google. Unless you guys have or know of something better for me?

the hpx are 500* and the ss are 400* Both don't chew rotors, but are far from the 700* of a1rm and sr's

I'm looking for a semi crossover pad. Something that will perform well on the street 60-80k roads with plenty of braking up and down hills for 30-60 minutes at a time, but wont chew rotors in traffic.

The rear pads will have to be used for both track and street. fronts will be changed to SRT's for the track thanks to Luke. Will be on t3 rotors f+r

All good! Joe just hooked me up with some rear remsa pads, seem to be perfect for what i want. 650* with lower rotor wear and a lower cold starting degree.

Remsa is an awesome pad from completely cold... but are dusty af.

Correcto, I had remsa all round once apon a time. Not a bad pad at all, except for the dust. Dusted more than the vdub.

Honestly if you want a 50/50 pad, then you gotta choose between a1rm or SR's. Or drive with dedicated street and swap over to track pads.

thats the plan ;) needed something decent for the street but not as agressive as track pads.

edit: update. Just spoke to GSL and he mentioned not to change pads without skimming rotors.

I had Intima SS on my R34 GTT (IN1170M-SS and IN1220M-SS) and melted them on a hilly drive near Black Spur, no good.

Upgraded to Remsa (0348.02 and 0365.02) and they are going great on the street and around Sandown with DBA T3's.

Hard to beat for value, you just have to be prepared to put up with the dust, they are very dusty.

How about pads for D2/KSport/Attakd kits?

Are these options even available? I know I want to upgrade something before I attempt to stop my barge on a race track, and the pads that came with the kit (green ones) I can induce brake fade on the street in about four corners and have had brake pad splatter all over the place.

Clearly not ideal lol.

Been Recommended Pagid RS29's, but they are in the region of $700 for a set.

What else is comparable?

I used to swap between QFM HPX (street) and A1RM (track) and didn't have any issues. Changed to Winmax W5 for track use and that resulted in some massive brake shudder because the HPX pad would just layer on top of the Winmax material. Once I had the rotors skimmed it was all good again but I won't be swapping pads again without skimming.

As far as I am aware, track pads dont put much "layer" on the disk due to their aggressive characteristics. So technically when you put track pads on after a different pad it should clean the surface for you.

Other way around, the issue was with the street pad layering on top of the track material. Swap back to track pads and do some hard braking and it mostly cleaned it up then swap back to street pads and not long after I would get shudder again.

Didn't have the same problem with HPX and A1RM I guess because they're a "similar" compound.

Now running Ferodo DS2500 pads full time.

And if you utilised your track pads as "rotor cleaners" then you wouldnt have the transition issue.

Whilst keeping the track pads cold, everytime you brake it will clean the rotor bit by bit. Continue to do this at street driving level, dont enter bed brake in mode as that will heat up the pads too much and start transferring onto the rotor.

This way you could transition brake pads.

Has anyone heard of RoadHouse brake pads before, or better yet has anyone actually used them?

I decided i'd try some Remsa pads so ordered some through a reputable trader. I was very disapointed to see these RoadHouse pads had been delivered instead.

They came with a letter stating; "In Europe, Remsa pads are sold under the RoadHouse brand... In Australia RoadHouse pads are supplied if there is no stock of the Remsa pad at the time."

I can't find much about the RoadHouse pads on the interwebs, so hoping someone has experience with them.

Considering sending these back and ordering some Intima / QFM pads from one of the forum sponsers instead.

Remsa are standard pads. They are made in Spain (also know as Roadhouse in various markets) and are ECR90 rated, which means +/- OEM performance. of course I am prepared to be called on this information by GaRkson, as they know best. Granted my knowledge of the product only comes from selling the **** for 3 years while I worked for Autostop/ASL and the various training days we had with Remsa.

Yep sounds like a match, good to know!

From what I've read they're supposed to sit somewhere between QFM HPX and A1RM. I wanted something street friendly that is still ok on the track, without chewing up the rotors. Also A1RM's apparently can be squealy, the Remsas are quiet, just really dusty.

    • Don't do it if your gearbox box has already having syncro issues. The short hifter will put a greater load on them. If you must I remember Nismo did a shorter shifter, with the top part being physically shorter and the part that went into the gearbox was the same as stock. In saying that I've had a C's short shifter (I think) in mine for many years, which was given to me as the previous owner was not sympathetic to the gearbox. Thus forwarned I was careful and had to modify my normal changing style. You have to be super accurate with your clutch and shifts
    • Well, after a week of daily driving and having to crawl out between the wheel and the side intrusion bars. I got myself a quick release setup. I went with an NRG short hub and Quick Release with some cute heart cutouts on the pull tabs. Nice and matchy matchy with the rest of the interior accents I have going on.  The only downside is the total stack height even with the short adapter is longer than the old HKB boss kit. Luckily I had some adjustment left on the column so move the wheel away.
    • stock shifter with new bushes, springs and cup will improve it. Gktech do all the bits. The opinion as the years have gone on is the redline is not great in old gearboxes.
    • Hi all   what short shifter do you use on your skykine r34?   my synchronous does have a problem and i was getting huge delay and grinding sound between 2nd and 3rd, did put shockproof red heavy stuff and it is great now/ no issues   would in your view short shifter screw this up?   people seems to suggest/ use cube short shifter and there is standard and premium. Seen review of premium as much better and less play. Thoughts?
    • Yeah, there's a bit of a density and friability difference between pebbles and any of those other things. Silicone will definitely float in oil and so will be mobile enough to move around. Although, again, if it is upstream of the filter it really shouldn't go any further. I would only ever worry about silicone when it is in places downstream of the filter. Upstream of the pickup is a whole 'nother matter. We've all seen what that does. I have seen the most abominable crap settled out in industrial gearboxes, trunnion lube systems and the like, without any sign that any of it has touched anything in the machine. Just chilling in the bottom, waiting for the inevitable operator error that causes the whole machine to need to be dismantled for repairs.
