If you're talking about alternator whine through your car speakers, there's plenty about it and no definitive solution. =-[

If it's an engine-bay thing or external sound, it could perhaps be your fuel pump or a noisy accessory like an alternator or powersteering pump?

hmm... getting deeper with warmth could even be your idler bearings that your timing belt runs over. If they're worn and haven't been replaced at a 100,000km service, they can get noisy.

hey cheers for your help man, but i dont think its nothing to do with the speaker sound, its more off the engine-bay, when i had my WOF done recently, the guy noticed a leak from the power stearing underneath? so not to sure if tha would make since to you?

check you power steering fluid, sounds like you may be running low

You should really be getting it looked at by a mechanic to work out what the problem actually is...Know one can know for sure without taking a detailed look. Everything makes different noises for different reasons. Take it to a workshop
