Hey i got a 1993 4 door r33 non turbo im getting extractors and full exhaust system done with a phat tip at the end, my question is - what is better for general performance and reliability - 2.25" or 2.5" ? (keeping in mind its a non turbo) or what would you recommend?

Thx, Leigh

I got a 2.25" exhaust system. The guy at the exhaust shop told me that 2.5" would be a bit too big and isn't really required for a NA. He also said that I would gain a bit more in the mid to top end by going 2.25" and that the engine wouldn't labour as much going up hills and having a full car of people. It works very well and I'm really happy with the setup.

Cheers!

The guy thats doing it though seemed to lean toward the 2.25"

I guess that's gotta be telling you something. When I was hunting around for prices, they all pretty much said the samething. Who was I to argue with an exhaust shop owner. Suppose they kinda know what they are on about. :)

Either way, it will be better than stock! :bunny:

as said above it would be a good idea to measure the exhaust you have first.

if you can undo a couple of bolts and measure the internal, not the external diameter. they just go up half or a full inch bigger.

my exhaust is 3", with the extractors being 1 3/4" for the primary and 2" for the secondary.

when i got my exhaust on i gained 16.9 kW. not too sure what she is doing now with the extractors.....this is on a n/a R34.

:P

ive got 3" all the way thru wif a 4" tip..

xforce stainless steel mandrel bent blah blah blah...

it cost me 1350

yeh i lost backpressure n shit but i dont really care bout the power now until i get turbo.

it gives out the best fking sound ever but hands down. prolly 120+db wif a nice rb purrrr
