Hi guys

I'm no dummy but I don't have much automotive experience, gotta start somewhere right.

Most of what I've read on the forums about catch cans has been convoluted and confusing, and most of the pictures are missing...

So with some knowledgable people's input (that means if you don't know don't post) I would like to definitively clear up

a) How the recirculation system works,

b) which pipes/valves do what on the RB25 (or RB20)

c) piping schemes and how they work.

After a quick read on wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PCV_valve I understand that the crank gas recirculation system consists of

1) Breather tube from intake pipe to crank case and

2) crank case to manifold tubing via PCV valve.

So off boost clean air is drawn through the breather tube into the crank casing then out of the crank casing into the intake manifold via the PCV valve.

On boost the PVC valve will close, meaning no connection between intake manifold and crank casing. Thus crank case gases should recirculate via the breather tube back into the intake pipe?

So there are two paths the crank case gases can take back into the engine, and therefore both these paths should pass through the catch can to void oil?

As I say I'd really appreciate if someone knowledgable can clarify this logic is correct, and post a few pictures of the RB25 showing which pipes do what, as I have no idea, and the basic piping scheme for catch can install.

Thanks in advance.
