Installing Rb26

hey guys

im installing my freshly built rb26 in the next week.

i bought this car in pieces so im slowly putting this maze of bolts back together.what i need to know is can i put the engine back in with the gearbox attached?

i will be using a standard size engine crane but could possibly organise something else if needed.

any other tips when installing engine and gearbox?

There was a thread - couple of years ago now - suggesting that to install / remove a RB26 + gearbox, the best way is to drop the whole assembly out on the X-member ie, lift car up and drop X-member / suspension. So to install, mount the engine + gearbox on the (removed) X-member, then raise the whole thing up to the body.

You can refit the engine and install the gearbox, or you can refit the gearbox, then install the engine to the gearbox.

I drop them in as one unit ( engine-box) from the top . You have to be able to lift it fairly high and tilted to the rear .
