I am looking at a caliper upgrade for S13, and was looking for r33 gtst calipers.

after much searching, I have noticed that Z32 are of similar quality.

Visibly, is the ribbing on the Z32 the main difference?

The r33 calipers only come smooth, yeah?

any other things I should note? I understand they are both sumitomos...

Would there be a price difference with the two, or would I be looking at paying the same?

Cheers,

Beau

edit: I'm also assuming that r33 gts calipers aren't even worth a mention?! Do they look similar at all? They aren't sumitomo... correct?

The R32 GTSt, R33 GTs25T and Z32 calipers are all 4 pot with the same sized pistons. They are all alloy, unlike the S14/15 calipers etc. The ain difference is the R32 and Z32 are deisgned to work with a 280mm rotor. You want to run the Z/R32 caliper then you need to buy the 280mm rotor.

The R33 GTS25t caliper is designed to work with a 296mm rotor. much like the R32 GTR caliper. So if you are going to use the R32 GTR or R33 GTS25t caliper then you need to use the 296mm rotors. The 296mm rotors and R32GTR or R33 GTS25t caliper would be the pick of th elitter for an S13. They do cost more.

Another alternative is to run the Z32/ R32 caliper with an adaptor and use the R33/34 GTR 324mm rotor. Its a budget fix and means you have to run 17" wheels. But its another alternative.

Personally i would grab R33 GTS25T calipers and rotors

OK... very helpful, thank you!

My cousin (that I am sourcing these for) is under the impression that the 33 calipers can be used on the s13 rotors.

I would have thought that you'd need the 33 rotors too, as you have suggested, and just redrill them to 4stud.

Can the 33 calipers be used directly on the s13 rotors?

Cheers,

Beau
