Hey all,

I was just wondering who had this specific clutch? Its being sold by Slide and was previously sold by C&B and its the 5-puck 'button' clutch which apparently handles up to 300rwkw.

I was just after some opinions and feedback of those who have or have used it; I want to know how it was for daily driving and how its held up at the track/drags. How is the pedal feel and how is it on take off, any shuddering? If so how much?

Sorry for the 21 question guys. :D I tried searching but apart from a few post that said that they were fitting them there wasn't much feedback about them at all.

Cheers,

Andy

I had mine installed on Friday, had it sent down from Sliding Performance.

Too early to tell you what its like, but the initial feel is nice and light pedal, grips very quickly and will take a bit to get used to. Shudder will be present, but its a trade-off which gives you a long-lasting clutch capable of transmitting high power.

I drove a fairly worn one (same clutch exactly) in a 200SX and it was really OK to drive. Didnt serge like a twin plate or anything. Might be different when they are new though.

Thanks for the feedback guys, please keep them coming. Trav33 can you please provide updates once you're clutch is run-in and you've been driving it a for a bit? :D

I'm currently deciding between this clutch and a rebuild of a Nismo Gmax Twin Plate clutch.

Ermm I have one.. But only done ~600km... ~500km was up and down the freeway to bed it n stuff.. ~90km to and from a drag day and ~10km of ~11 runs at a drag day.

Cant say much about it, since I havent driven it. But it's a lot better than the other one I had (Not sure what one, wasnt std for sure, might have been an organic one).

This one bites a lot better esp on the drags. Shudder has gone after the few kms and some launches.. Takes a bit to get used to, i stalled it a few times even at the drags  .

Will let you know in a few months time when I drive the thing lol.

I'm sure a few other people can comment too..

I have one fitted to my r32.

it holds 240rwkw with no slip and it bites nice and hard. it goes drifting every month and dosent complain

it does shudder especially in reverse but having a 2-way dosen't help. you need to slip it a bit to get it off the line nicely. it is fine for day to day. but if i did it again i would buy the jim berry.

decent clutch for the price.

I have one in mine.... been in for around 15,000km ( I do on average 1000km per week)

Mine settled down to a normal h/d full face clutch in around two weeks. Although I have never had a standard clutch as the one that died was an exedy full face h/d which couldn't hold the power. Not sure what the comparison to a stock clutch is?

Currently running 262 rwkw.... will be 300rwkw by the end of next week so Il see how it goes then! Anthony (GLTOOY) is running 300rwkw + (up to 350) on the same clutch with no issues thus far - well none that he has menitoned anyways!

They last longer if you don't ride them at all... ie don't make it shudder (reverse always does in mine no matter what) ! My last one (S13 - 250rwkw) lasted around 2 years with a fair bit of abuse from an ex BF that couldn't quite drive it properly!
