Hey researching for my new project, stock r32 for drift.

Does anyone have any idea on pricing for whiteline sway bars?new or used? :laughing-smiley-014:

Be throwing one in the front... and whether i should just go for heavy duty or blade adjustable..?

(please have mercy..)> :D:thumbsup::( (DESTROY!!)> :domokun: random*

For a thread with only 5 posts there sure is alot of confusion going on.

If you want a price on the swaybar you could always ring Whiteline & ask them. Or your local Repco or similar sttore as they sell them.

If you want to help your car drift putting a stiffer sway bar on the fron will help it - undertsteer.

If it is an R32 GTS-T the cheapest thing to do is get a rear sway bar off a GT-R.

If you must have the Whiteline gear get the adjstable bars.

Stiffer front swaybar without an upgraded rear swaybar will work miserably for drift, definitely get the rear one first. You'd be much better off getting both at once though. And having them adjustable is quite helpful.

Quick question:

Will you notice any difference if you get two different brand sway bars?

I currently have custom made Kmac rear sway bar.. But might get whiteline for the front (due to cheaper pricing)

So should i go back to kmac n get a front one made up as well?

I'm gonna go with blind :worship: joke. Doesn't help that the site now reduces the size of all the pics now though.

They're called stabilizer bars in the price list. Swaybars = stabilizer bars = anti-roll bars.

Siddr20: I doubt there would be a difference between swaybar brands. But ring up the two companies and ask them where they get their spring steal from. If they get em from the same place, they're gonna be pretty damn similar.

The particular source of steel is not important. The diameter(s) of the sway bar & the length of the lever arms are the important things. So check the outside diameters & the inside diameters also if the bars are hollow.

Sorry, my mistake, I made a couple of assumptions there, just thinking we were comparing brands. Checking the diameter is a must when buying swaybars, I dont think there are any Australian companies that make hollow swaybars though, so that makes things a bit easier. Arm lengths dont have to be worried about too much as they have to be kept pretty constant to fit the car.

hey i got new front one you can have it for 100, it is the adjustable type. Left over from my RB26 conversion.

it funny actually as i pulled a full set of cuscos out to fit whiteline ones to the S13. Thw whiteline ones offered a better solution and worked better. They are heavier though.

get the largest gtr rear one and match it with mine and you will be laughing (i left my laptop at home so i dont have the whiteline part numbers in front of me)

i found when i had my R32 that a 24mm (i think) rear sway was absolutely insane for my car drifting........had coilovers and section front and rear camber arms as well, but once the sway was in with just a standard front any corner and the tail would come out with minimal effort. found it nice for my style driving

I can 2nd that.

I have an R32 with the following suspension.

whiteline springs and unknown shocks

front castor arms

whiteline adjustable rear swaybar set to medium.

the car drifts like a champ. :P

no front bar needed.

^^^^

its all about the "grip" with you Salad.............LOL

-personally i think each to there own, comfort is more important then what people "say" you should have based on there experience.

In any motorsport your aim is to maximise grip... So what's wrong with trying to get more grip?

Comfort? I dont think so with your 14/12 kg/mm springs

    • All I can say Duncan is good luck and I hope that Neil did not run any E85 in Cheryl. I have recently experienced the full spectrum of fuel tank issues in my R33's that had been caused by E85 and contaminated fuel. When you take the cover off the top of the tank and have a look inside you will get an understanding of how easy it will be. Best case situation is clean fuel with minimal contamination. My GTR was like this and it was a very simple operation to just grab the fuel pump carrier bracket and slide it up and out of the tank. My three GTS_T's had different levels of fuel contamination that was probably caused by E85 in the fuel.  In the worst case all of the metal components in the tank had rusted to the point where there were pieces of rusted metal swirling around in the tank. This required the removal of the exhaust, the tailshaft, the complete rear cradle and the fuel tank. The components in the tank were that rusted that it took days to get the fuel pump carrier and the mounting brackets out of the tank. When the tank was finally cleaned, everything inside the tank had to be replaced. With the tank all back together I could then reinstall it in the car along with everything else that had to come out. Good luck and I hope that you find a clean tank.
    • It is a two door. It is black and also still has the OEM wheels and stereo. Exact model would be KR_R32RGFEL_SS According to GTR-Registry.com is a 2 Door Coupe; RB20DE; 2WD no HICAS; MT.F5; (11L) Projector Headlamps and Fog Lights; (12_) Electronic Active Full Auto Air Con (Climate Control); (13-14SS) V Selection -- Which seems to be accurate description of my variant. Will try to upload a few pictures soon. The OEM wheels look like the below image. Image is taken from the goo-net-exchange website.

    • Welcome Gabriel. At least your car has a glorious RB and not the shitty CA18. As MBS206 mentioned all the good bits can be added later. Two doors or four?
    • And half of them have been converted to turbos.
