... a car's a car dude. and a replacement hose etc goes on exactly the same way it came off. they gaurantee their work for like 12 months too.

there's plenty of stories about so-called "import specialists" doing dodgy work. its a nissan, not a lambo.

lol true, but something about 'lube mobile' just doesn't sit right with me. I dont necessarily service mine at an 'import specialist', I also take it to my local mechanic.. but previous to me taking it to him i have seen some imports sitting in his workshop. Just gves me some peace of mind knowing that 'hopefully' they are less likely to stuff things up then another place.

The name lube mobile doens't sound bad to me. I believe it comes down tot he individual guy. Each lube mobil guy would be different. Check the guy out in your local area. If he's good, then use him. I know this really good mobile guy - nice asian guy.

Most 'performance shops' just whack the name 'performance' or motorsport in their name and suddenly they're an import specialist.

Lube mobile is a great idea - their prices are very competitive, and they come to your door. No need to go to a workshop and have someone pick you up to take you home..

Some guy above said it's a nissan not a lambo. Even a lambo is a car....

haha yeah that was me, but if i could afford a lambo, i'd (want to) be able to afford to have an authorised workshop to do any work to it just because I doubt many mechanics (lube mobile, 'performance', import specialist etc) have actually worked on them.

but its all a matter of perception i guess - i was thinking "yeah it might be worth paying almost double the price of a normal a mechanic cos he 'may' look out for specific issues that are common with my car" or something like that. but then when you consider how common skylines are nowadays and the availability and even interchangeability of some nissan parts - i'd rather use the money i save on mechanic prices to take my girly out to dinner and have her complain, moan and bitch about how i'm such a bad boyfriend for spending time and money on my car...."baby i swear that is an ice cream stain near the tailpipe....!"

yeah i'm a terrible boyfriend. but god it annoys me when she asks why i "need" new wheels, or why i "need" a big intercooler!!? stupid STUPID questions!!

i do 'some' work on my car myself too, but i'm not sure if i actually take extra care. i one of those people who yells (i even kicked a big dent in my old car...) at his car for being such a c*nt when bolts are in hard to reach places or are super tight etc.

As an indication, my car currently has some blood and some smudges on it from when i fitted my dump pipe last week, as well as a couple of little scratches from my belt when i was leaning over the front quarter panel....dammit just thinking about those scratches makes me wanna kick the sh*t outta my car!!!!

Those why do you 'need' questions don't even deserve an answer ;) Why do they need 50 handbags, or 100 pairs of shoes. We don't ask them, because they'll give a dumb answer like, um, I need it, so they should leave us alone :P

Man, I'm just like that as well. My temper is about as short as they come. I've done that to the guard too. By the time you realise, and then think hmmm, I could have put an old t shirt or something on there its too late.

and then they blame us for sleeping around when its 'they' who have forced us to do it!

i think i just go in expecting things to just slide off/out, the minute they give me grief i stop caring about the welfare of other parts/panels and i'll do anything to get something off!!

i'm always in a hurry too which just adds to the frustration....

ah well enough whoring this perfectly good thread with details of my shortcomings as a human being

LOL So true.....I still havent got my new dump pipe on after 3 attempts!!!! I cant get under the car because its too low....i cant get the lower bolts off the dump because I havent got a 1/4 drive ratchet etc etc

haha dude you need a jack and some stands!!

the hardest bolt for me to get off was the one closest to the exhaust header - lucky i found a 'pivot' 1/4 drive socket handle in my dad's boot!! i took some pictures during my ordeal but haven't got around to offering them up to the existing people who've done dump pipe tutorials.

Thats the good thing :nyaanyaa:

You know about the work I had done, which he completed at 7:30 last night. The "worst case" quote he gave was $2500, I ended up paying $2400.

This was the major (all fluids, flush, belts [timing etc etc], tuneup, clutch and brake master, new plat plugs and gapping, a few hoses, and so much more I couldnt list but just think "

the major of major services lol), steering pump, 2 x Nolathane castor bushes, fuel lines (f'ing thinks were ripped up and leaking everywhere haha - why i drove it like this, I dont know haha), wipers, 02 sensor, water pump.

Plus they gave me 2 x $30 vouchers for my next service haha.

2400? what sort of a bs rip off is that? I wouldn't even pay half that
