What is it that makes R34s so heavy? What can be done to reduce the weight without having to buy carbon panels etc?

I am thinking a GTR bonnet, removing the rear seats (meh...), stripping the boot and removing the spare tyre (meh again...)

I am wanting to get it down by as much as 100kgs if possible.

100kgs is not a big ask IMO - spare tyre; jack; boot trims & lining; rear seats; passenger seats; HICAS; speakers; seat belts; centre console; carpet; mats; interior plastic trim; etc etc...

You'll end up having one hell of a track-spec R34; but why? Is 100kg really going to make that much of a difference on the street? Is the difference going to make up for the discomfort you will experience (sound, rattles, vibrations, smells)?

Personally I would do what DECIM8 said; put the time and effort under the hood and it will make up for it easily.

if you get a hicas lock bar and lose the hicas that is supposed to shave off over 30 kgs, then if you remove the spare tire and jack and get lightweight rims you should have saved at least 50 kilos.

anything past that is getting pretty extreme unless u want a pure track beast.. u will notice more difference from suspension and engine mods
