hey guys

i have just had my car remapped and dyno tuned by jeff from the speed lab. (south aussies will know him) about a week ago and my car only made 169.5rwkw. with the mods i have i thought i should have got more power out of it. i will list my mods and see what you guys think.

rb20 silver top

75,000kms

HKS GT 2530 ball bearing turbo

hybrid front mount intercooler

3 inch exhaust all the way through from turbo to tip with cat replacement pipe

remapped ecu

15 psi of boost

pod filter

new heavy duty clutch

is it time for a rebuild? what do rebuilds usually cost?

thanks guys

Jumping the gun a bit. I would be looking into other possibilities before considering a rebuild, could be anything...

Maybe try a compression test first put your mind at easy. Post up a dyno sheet too should help diagnose weather there's a problem.

Remember it's only a rb20, no rb25 :D

post up the dyno sheet

gotta love the "I dont know?"

coming from the tuner surely they should have sorted it rather than left you with crappower fig

I assume you have done the fuel pump

power should be closer to 200rwkw on that boost 190-210

maybe chuck the remap and stick a fcd on it thats all I had to make 230 with the same mods

alternatively dont leave next time till it sorted

i'd say you need to upgrade your fuel pump, injectors and fuel pressure reg also try your afm z32 will do the job i have the same prob i have a t04 high mount turbo 3" exhaust turbo b ack high flow cat pod front mount mines ecu blits blow off valve running 16psi apart from the lag its ok but got told that i need to upgrade my fuel delivery and afm

Ummmmm whats the story with fuel mods or lack of?

oh yeah sorry guys. i have recently had a 500hp walbro fuel pump installed.

they said it should be making 200 at the wheels easily. i might get a compression test done. anyone know a good place to go to in adelaide.

yeah yourself, go to supercheap auto, or any parts store and get yourself a compression meter.... piss easy to test..

just unplug your igniter pack, and fuse to your fuel pump & make sure your battery is fully charged..

take out 1 spark plug at a time and whack the compression meter in and go and crank your car over, do that for each spark plug...

oh yeah, make sure you warm up your car.

I had a stock R32 RB20DET engine but with 3" exhaust, small front mount and EMS computer and on 12 psi it made 163rwKw, tuned by JPC.

The stock injectors will just reach 220rwKw with an adj regulator and im sure the AFM will just cope with that sort of power too.

What was the AFR and ignition timing?!

you need to take all 6 spark plugs out to do the comp test!

thanks for the help guys.

keep the ideas coming. i will do the compression test and let you know what the readings were. the tuner said that the injectors were far from maxing out and as VHR32 said the afm should be able to cope.

keep ideas coming though

oh shit serious?

I did it on my car before I bought it 1 at a time... damn it guide I read... well all the piston read evenly when I did it, so I handly the owner a bank cheque and drove off with the car..
