DECIM8
They want me to run 19's kinda because I cant find any rims which suit my wants .. Im going with koya race teks .. For a street parked r34 Im not going jap rims and If I did want to buy some $4000 rims id buy some american racing wheels they got some nice designs... Anyways Koyas have wicked dish and deep black centres so should look good.. Hes going to run some 235s or 245s for the fronts if he can find them and 265s for the rears hes promised to keep it close as possiable to rolling diameter .. and he told me closest he can pull off is 1mm which im happy with.. However do you think these wheels will be strong enough to withstand some twisting driving and spirted driving? I know 19's happen to have a higher rate of buckling because of the size of them .. I assume a warranty would cover this .. I really need new rims and tyres so these are the ones I want but I wanted them in 18's which is a 8-12 week wait which pratically means they have no idea.. So .. Ill have to buy new tyres in the mean time.. question is : WTF should I do From what they've told me 19's shouldnt rub but if I do drop it ill prob need to expect it .. which is pretty understandable on full lock of course.. best thing about 19s is it will lift the car 2 inches up from stock which means my kit will sit legal height when its on Edited May 31, 2007 by DECIM8 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/170965-19s-time/ Share on other sites
so_tred
I think 19's will look too big but that's just IMO. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/170965-19s-time/#findComment-3154825 Share on other sites
DECIM8
Yeah may do .. its a street machine tho so suppose it wont look too out of place.. It will be legal if its the same rolling diameter right? SEX-DR.
man i have the exact same wheels on my car. (19x8.5 up front - 19x9.5 at back) I run 275s at teh rears and they sit perfectly. i run c/o sus. so i got the car as low as possible (with the guards rolled) so they dont scrub, and teh car 'looks' low, but is well above the legal allocation thanx to the wonders of 19s!! go for it.... be bold, take a chance!! (I too was being pressured into going only 18s purely coz ppl said theyll be to big blah blah blah - but im glad i went with the 19s). And my car is a r32, which are smaller than r34s(you do have a r34 dont you?the car in the avatar has r34 wheels), so it wont look out of place!!! G/l with it all, post up some pics when done, Peter Edited June 1, 2007 by SEX-DR. DECIM8
Thats one hot 32 .. I particularly love the Decal.. I might get something similar in grey or red when I get finished with my other body parts.. Of course the wheels are supa sexi they actually dont look too big on the r32 so r34 should fill it out perfect... all you had to do was lip it? no inside work? Ill be also adding coil overs so lets hope it dont scrub there.. whats the offset on yours and do you run spacers? My addvice is deffinitley get coil over sus. to get the car as low as poss, without scrubbing (beauty of adj sus - gotta love it) Peter Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/170965-19s-time/#findComment-3155028 Share on other sites
SEX-DR.
and tyre prices arent that bad now-a-days either, as 19, 20, etc are getting popular :PBJ: as you need to consider that too.
