So... the scenario is much like most other peoples i have found from the searches i've done. But specifically this is what my car is doing.

The drivers side window when i hit the down (auto) button it goes down as it should and stops. When i hit the up button its goes up but when it hits the top the motor appears to keep going and makes the most god awful noise.. its really loud! by tapping the down direction it cuts the power to the motor and all is peachy once more.

I then pulled my door apart expecting to find a little black box mounted houseing the relay as was explanned in many other posts. But in my car (a '95 S1 GTSt) there was nutin. It would appear on my car that the relays are all mounted together within the window control buttons casing. i then removed the cover from under the switches to find two small PCB's and from what i can see all the solder joints looks perfectly intacked and still very shiney (not dry).

Anyone got an idea on what the issue is?

Also if i do need to get a new switches / relays does anyone have the type i'm talking about (no seperate relay)?

Cheers

Camden

I have exactly the same problem on my 95 R33 GTR V-Spec.

I swapped the window switch over from my GTS-T and that did not solve the problem, however the GTR switch worked fine on the GTS-T.

Any suggestions ? ? ?

possibly a sensor issue. im no electrician, but these windows are obviously suppose to tell the motor to stop once it reaches a point. Im thinking its got to be some form of mechanical lever that will "flick" once the window is up all the way. good luck finding it.

Yeah, i dont know / havent found what actaully causes the relay to cease power to the motor.

Now my window has stopped working all together :) you can hear the relays still clicking away and u can just hear the motor attempting to move but i think my first issue has caused my motor to burn out.....

ive taken some photos to show the different configuration my car seems to have in regards to relay location

below is my door with the trim removed (note the lack of black relay box everyone else seems to have)

And these images show what the back of my switch box looks like

Try a import wrecker. See if you can find a cheap 2nd hand window regulator, you need one now anyway. See if that fixes the problem.

Sorry i cant be of more help but my problem was more obvious with just a broken pulley.

Deren

So far still no success on working out what the hell is wrong...

But now im looking for some recommendations for some wreckers... ive called all the companies listed in the victoria section of the forum with no success and a few i found in the yellow pages.. none had any motors or switch modules (especially with the relays together)

Nissan themselves wanted over $500 just for the motor!!!! eeep! so wont be buying a brand new one....

Well the motor cant be burnt out coz it randomly started working again this morning... got the switches and relay being looked at by an auto electrician...*fingers crossed* its a simple easy and most importantly cheap fix!

mmm....2 words to explain how the window 'stops at up' or 'at down' position......they are..."Current Sensing".

ie: the electronics 'sees' the motor 'draw' extra current when the window hits the 'end of it's travel', and shuts off power to the PW motor.

I finally got sick of my car's idling when the window would keep drawing current when in the down position.!!!

The box containing these electronic parts is called a 'power window timer box', and can be bought for $85 (incl.Melb.delivered).

Just specify the EXACT model/year of your car.

This is the response I got from my question on the same item...posted here to hopefully help you.....

Regards,

Spit.
