Ivan i will DEFINATELY be up for another meet!!! 17 runs for $85.. can't argue with that.

Doesn't bother me if i was nearly the slowest hippy. I enjoyed maself and did better than the time I wanted to do :P

U can run whatever PSI u like in a car with stuff all power :) It doesn't make a difference when you can hardly get em spinnin anyways :D hehe

Hippy - sorry we didnt catch up dude - I saw you rock up (you parked over with the Skyline group right?) and I called out over the p.a. but I dont think u heard me

Maxx - sorry, I thought your car was Bugalugs' for a while there cos I couldn't see your front bumper from the commentators angle - nice front bumper there anyhow (intersting an R32 GTR style bumper on an R33) - I love that bar!

Henry - nice time man!!! - you almost caught me :D .... thanks - the commentating was crap but we did what we could :) .... thanks to Ricky for his help too!

Joel/Clint I agree too ... later in the year would be better - like October/November, where we're pretty much guaranteed no rain (wasn't the weather good to us today?!!!), and so we can all have time to get our lines in order :P

Timmmayyy - nice time for the old 3lt n/a - did you like the plugs I was giving you all the time? :)

You shoulda had your radio tuned in to the AIR station (I assume it was broadcasting?) .... that's what I always do when I race so I can hear real-time what's going on! (60', 1/4 time etc)

yeah andrew i was there and u did see me but i rudely didn't say hello because u were always busy chatting with someone so i dind't want to butt in and i parked outside cause i didn't know how to get in there hehe ... and i had the white jacket with blue/red stripes down the side ... and most of the time i was standing next to the track so i couldn't head **** all ... i was deaf from that red mazda rotary with 10 metre wide slicks :P ... and i think keirs 32gtr finished my ears off :D

and yeah must admit weather was pretty good .. not tooo hot .. but my damn camera ran out of batteries or i would of taken pics of every car there .. oh well

Hey people

i was the man holding the flag for the late model 4dr skyline

had a great day

got some good practice and take offs and so on

got time down to 14.1 with rt of .489 with 2.1 60ft at 98mph

very keen for another with few more mods

Erin

Firstly I would like to thank all involved in organising the day. I had never dragged proper before and wasnt keen on attending a normal street meet. My car is the Grey R33 mpg posted in a previous thread by GFXman.

My first run ever: 60' - 2.898 (yuck, wheel spin) with ET of 15.405

and MPH 88.72

My best : 60' - 2.1 flat, ET of 13.694 at 102.82 mph.

For my car this maybe should have been closer to the other similar modded Skylines of Freebaggin and Bugalugs more stock freakish 95 model who both got in the 13.4's. However in comparison to their cars reaching the 105mph consistantly I couldnt get more than 102 mph. I tried shifting earlier and later and made little difference. Something to look at in the future.

I wont even start with my day:mad: The best I could manage was 14.3 110mph with the whole rear end jumping around. Couldnt even get it on full boost. 3 runs for $85 not happy hope we have another one of these days so I can make up for it in the end. Apparantly the high light of my car was the huge flame on the first run?

Really good day guys..

I think we got there a bit late and missed a few of you guys run.

Something is VERY wrong with my car. There is a fuel leak somewhere.. so no runs for me.

I was looking forward to seeing your car race matt.. everytime I have seen it its been parked! Maybe next time

    • Reasonably hard, although I haven't run it with the new Endless setup yet. The old brakes were F50's on 335mm rotors and the car did a 1:40.6 at Phillip Island which is a reasonable time, I'm seeing high 600s on the temperature paint. A guy I know ran the Endless fluid at WTAC without issues and he was doing 1:33's I think (Evo) with a 355/332 setup. I don't get out to the track as much as I'd like but we put the car on the hoist and spanner check every bolt and re-paint mark everything, bleed the brakes, change the fuel, check the coolant system and re-bleed blah blah blah before every event. Motorsport is expensive, RB's are expensive so a couple of hours before an event is time well spent. It's also a net time saving because if you can keep your RB from self destructing it saves you time in the long term!
    • Welcome Alice......hope you have a bit more luck from here on! What was done in the build?
    • Hello! I'm new here, I have an R33 GTST that is currently being finished up! Last year was pretty rough, blew two stock turbos so I decided to build the car. Has been down since November, but I get it back next weekend!
    • Hello, I believe my car was imported to America in the 2000s by Kaizo Industries. Would anyone be able to help me find more info on them? I've only found all the basic stuff like that paul walker bnr34, them being shutdown by feds, just stuff like that. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!
    • I am using Motec M150.  I am not working on the car myself actually.  My workshop is giving all these info, they are quite reputable in the industry and are very familiar with Motec and RBs and have done a few big setups with VCam and single turbo on RBs.  In fact, they built and tuned my engine from day one.  But they are stumped with my engine at the moment and cannot work out how come the compression is so low with the VCam. They told me that they have now swapped in some Kelford cams (without the VCam) and can achieve around 130psi compression and the low end torque is better, but now the engine is doughy as.  It boosts and peaks at more than 1000rpm slower, with twin HKS GTIII RS, it doesn't get full boost until over 5000rpm. I have always thought the VCam was a bit disappointing at the low rpm. To a point I had to ride the clutch a fair bit to get up a small hill from stand still.  That was when I had a clutch.  Now changing to a 8HP, I don't have that luxury and this problem has become a major issue. I am beginning to think the VCam never work since the day it was installed.  Maybe it was just sitting at the most advanced point, that is why it went good at top end but very ordinary at the bottom.  Therefore, with the help of the Holinger 6 speed and paddle shift, as long as it was moving, it drove pretty good.
