Hello everyone,

Has anyone bought themselves a new or second hand cluster for their Skyline?

I have just purchased one, since my R32 GT-R's speedo doesn't quite go high enough. Installation isn't a problem but I was wondering if anyone knows how to set the ODOmeter readout(to show how many km's you have done).

The One I have bought has more km on it than my car has done, is it even possible to wind the cluster back?

If so, how do I go about doing this?

PS: I'm not trying to be dodgy and wind mine back before I sell it, I only just got it!

Cheers all

Slim

They are designed not to be tampered with.

When they are tampered with, you can sometimes tell, because the numbers dont all line up anymore. And ive heard stories of people winding back an ODO (not in a skyline), and then it breaks down a few thou kms after that.

When buying a second hand cluster, you could get lucky and get one with less kms, or unlucky and get one with more kms. As long as you have a log book since you owned the car, showing your services, etc - you shouldnt be too worried about the extra kms.

if you look in the yellow pages there are gauge companys that do repairs ect ect give them your old cluster and the new one and they can resett the new one they need the old one as proof that the miliage is correct ive had it done b4 by a place in adelaide nr the city there will be someone in your area im sure

Thanks for the input guys.

The speedo rocked up a couple of days ago and I installed it this morning.

I ended up pulling the gauge apart and setting the ODO myself, was a piece of cake and will work properly and reliably. If anyone wants to know how it's done, let me know. If I don't post here for ages send me a PM.
