Rb25 Exhaust Port Hump?

Wanted to make sure these can be removed. They don't seem to be any sort of passage's and my best guess is they are some sort of reinforcements for the exhaust studs? Or maybe something to do with the way the head flows in stock form? Has anyone removed these without a problem? I'm not looking to do anything major to these ports, Just a little clean up and I would like to see these humps gone if it can be done.

They are apparently there to help prevent reversion within the stock exh. manifold.

I've heard one speculation that they also help point the airflow in the right direction within the stock exhaust manifold.

They do hurt the ports flow.

Can you arrow the bit you are talking about, I answered and then decided I was looking at the wrong bit, so deleted it.

I've removed then on my 25 head and haven't had any problems. 26 heads also have them and they're commonly removed when porting.

Ah, thats actually my cylinder head from another thread 3 years ago. The heads still going strong
