Hate this job so I made up a tool.

1-piece flat bar 32x6x150 long

2-pieces flat bar 25x5x55 long

Welded so that it's 140mm between the inside faces.

If you don't have a welder I guess you could bend one up from a piece of 25x5 bar x 200long, bent into the "U" shape.

  • 2 weeks later...

The bung is the PITA threaded cap which seals the top of the Fuel tank.

Normally, when accessing the fuel pump, you have to use a hammer & a small piece of wood to drift the threaded cap off....

(This as annoying, sometimes painful - Hitting hand with hammer, and very time consuming....as I round out today, when fitting an 040)
