Had this product installed today on 33...

Doug from eastside installs is great!

$480 installed for me (maybe depending on where u live bit different)

Great product and excellent service, very proffesional.

He gives lifetime guarantee on wiring and M80G comes with 5 year warranty.

Cant go wrong.

Call him on 0402 855 801

this has been covered about 40 bazillion times.

Always comes back with the same answer.

Mongoose.

However, you may want to check out the bw10000 black widow alarm, available thru strathfield. Although, if you get it, take it somewhere else to have it put it..

Look bro...I had the mongoose M80AM installed ystday. It is supposedly the best one out at tha moment. Its got everything from microwave emitting sensors that make perimeters out side your car to detect when people gt too close, to high frequency soundwaves inside. Was reading the booklet last nyt for it. It crazy shit. It cost me 640 installed, cos i got the window lifters and the mirrors to fold in when i arm it. CAR AUDIO EXCELLENCE in Penrith. Ask for Jay. They do a killa job.

OK, I'm make this quick and painless for you brother...

Go the VIPER VX alarm with remote start, sound sensors and motion detectors - should cost you around $650.00 but worth it helps - even has a picture of a viper snake flashing when the alarm is armed.

Go to GARY'S RADIO AND ALARMS in East Keilor - ask for DOM or anyone can help you - say, Kevin with the Black R33 Skyline referred you and he'll do you mates rates. 03 9336-0053 - about 12 minutes drive from highpoint.

Good luck yo!

Im sure he would be in pain if he crashed his car because he couldnt get insurance with that alarm, If you want insurance i would disregard above comment. Nothing wrong with the M80G

Remote start is illegal and not able to be covered by insurance.

Plus it makes the car heaps easier for the thieves to take. ie - find the remote start relays, trigger them, car startes, no hotwiring, it's already done.

As for Gary's Keilor.

They are the same as the other gary's - CRAP. Ever since Gary's brother Rod left and took gary's best installers they have been struggling.

As for mates rates, at $650.00 they made about $450.00 profit off that sale. you got ripped.

thank you (you beat me to it.)

if you must go viper - 460 or 480XV.

now considering you spent a bucketload on an import that makes a very good spare parts pile I would invest a decent amount in keeping it yours.

im in the market for a new car alarm as well..

i keep reading good things about the Mongoose M80G... they sell on ebay pretty cheap, for about 230 i think...

but then again the Viper 791XV is looking pretty good too... as well as teh Mongoost M80AU...

i dont know which one to pick! lol

LEt's face it fellas. If a thief wanted to steal your ride, it will be stolen or else he wouldn't bother. An alarm will on hinder the thief's chances of stealing your ride not prevent it.

Now having that said - the only insurers who would insurer a turbo Skyline would be justcars and shannons (from my understanding), now... with justcars for example (I'm with them now), they allow all modifications and remote start is ok - I personally checked with them first.

seriously fellas, you buy a car and get an expensive alarm and you decide to not get remote start - give me a break.

Having that said, the VIPER VX series alone is around $450.00 on the market (check ebay if you like, I'm talking about the whole package here not just with the alarm) - so get aleast give the guys a some labour costs brother.

Who cares if Gary's brother Rod (related to Jill whom is Fred's cousin's friend's brother's uncle) - as long as they do the job. I have dealt with them for many years, good crowd - DOM is really good.

But again, totally up to you guys.

Correct

Wrong. the modification must be legal. If the remote start is found to be the cause of a claim you will not have insurance.

Yes, we prefer to have cars that are not easy to steal.

You still got ripped.

Gary is the business mind, Rod the technical one. Obviously you are not in the industry and dont know the people.

But again, totally up to you guys.

Correct again. It is up to us to have cars with correctly installed security devices rather than have something that will be easy to steal.

I wouldnt trust what JustCars or Shannons VERBALLY tell you. I've called them before, asking about what alarm is legal - and they just read a little tiny generic statement along the lines of "it must be an Australian Approved immobiliser". I asked them how many points of immobilisation it must have, and they couldnt tell me. I sent them an email, and they referred me to go talk to CarSafe to find out the Australian Standards. Write them a letter, tell them you are installing a remote start alarm which is illegal and makes your car defectable in Australia, and ask them to confirm that they will provide insurance.... I'd like to see their WRITTEN response!

i purchased a VIPER 1002 and was fitted by Tonkins in Adelaide.

This is a pretty cool alarm, works fine, had a few extra things fitted ended up costing me about $600 all up.

Very happy with their work there.
