Hi all!

i was wondering if anyone has a pic of their boost solenoid or if they know where the hoses are suppose to connect to.

I just bought myself a skyline the other day and realised that it was not boosting past 5psi, after reading other topics i realized it was the solenoid. atm i only have the bottom hose on the solenoid connected..

if anyone has pics that would be great!

Thanks in advanced

5 psi is normal for a stock standard 33...

you can make it 7 all the time, as opposed to just above 4500rpm where the actuator opens and lets more air through...

search for a thread called High boost mode or something...

its a r33 yes.

its running at 5psi all the time even when you pass 5k rpm..

has anyone got pics?

"1 hose goes to the w/g actuator and one to a positive boost source.. ie jst on the jpipe"

wheres the J pipe? im new to skylines =P is that anywhere on the intercooler piping?

I had a look at the high boost mod.. will look into it as soon as i get it working properly first.

It is clearly the waste gate and the pressure source T'ed from the top nipple of the solenoid, and the bottom one does its thing buh to where it goes I never touched it.

THANKS!

my bottom one is connected near the pod.. so im guessing i just gotta sort out the top one.

Thanks everyone who helped!

Big UPs for the people on skylinesaustralia forums :D

    • Ha ha ha, mine loves to spend, all on the dogs (they're our kids, and her spending would likely rival that of some people raising children!) the only benefit is, her spending is tax deductible as she runs a business in the dog industry 😛 The above all means she can spend race car budget quicker than I can. 😛 That and a lot of the things I want are very expensive, and I can be a bit "you want how much for that?!" And at other times overly impulsive. Or I start the w days of research, get to day 1.5 and get really annoyed that no one will advertise actual specifics and it's just marketting BS and I go "well, now I don't want anything to do with that now!" Also I hate paying lots of money for something I can make from $50 in materials. Then I get the shits halfway through making things and wonder why others who just buy parts have more fun... 😛
    • Their 240Z with the RB26 would be a real nice thing to have in a garage to come out for an occasional weekend cruise It's such a cool thing in so many ways Sadly, we have a blue 240Z shell that I walk past every day, just sitting outside a shed at work, it has been slowly disintegrating and falling apart into the ground for the last few years, the owner cannot be found, and I am unable to "claim it" I've been told by work and the RMS, the rust in the body is excessive though, and it has had most of the salvageable stuff, like panels, trim and switch gear stripped off it over the last year or two, work keeps threatening to put it in one of our metal scrap bins, I wish they did though, as it makes Mark sad walking past it
    • Good tips, I like it! 😂😂 My wife is a LOT more frugal than me so it's only me we need to worry about! A splurge to her is buying 2 pairs of socks in one visit at Kmart!
    • Haha, the appropriate response to the question "Is this new?" is "I've had this for a while.". With the unspoken small print that a while may be the time since this morning or five years ago   And to be fair I learned that from the best, i.e. my wife. Because it goes both ways.
    • Yeah kids certainly add a whole another dimension to your life.  Life ceases to be about you and more about them for a while!  And I wouldn't have it any other way.  I love watching them play sport and make new friends along the way. Wow, sounds like your mate is a good guy to know!!!  He's got some serious toys in the toy box!  Yes it would be lovely to be able to do stuff to your car without getting all tied up in boring shit like how to pay for it!!  I would describe my spending style as "aggressively spontaneous and logical but regrettable purchasing"....  That will hopefully make no sense at all which would be appropriate given that is how I buy stuff.  I'll decide at the drop of a hat that I'm buying something expensive, research the living shit out of it for 2 days straight then go out and buy it.  Then I'll have instant buyers remorse for 2 days which generally passes by the time it turns up on the front step!  If I'm feeling ballsy sometimes I'll tell my wife.  Other times it just makes its way silently passed the house and out the back to the shed, never to be spoken of again...
