How Do You Remove Parkers?

tried to swap my parkers tonight in the S2 rs4, and bugger me - i gave up.

removed battery, removed airbox etc - i unclipped the back of the parker globe bit, but could not figure out how to swap the globe. it got dark so i gave up lol.

anyone got some insight???

I dunno about S2 but in the S1 its pretty simple 1 screw at the top of the parker inside the engine bay, and then all it is is just a locating lug and you can just pull the parker out

Yep, that's right - the only thing to worry about is that the locating lug feels like it's going to break before it lets go of the parkers.

I can only assume the s2 is the same or vrey similar in the removal process...

Man when I did the FMIC install on my series one I had a hell of a time. Undid the one screw on top and couldn't get them to budge, didn't want to break them. But ended up getting that pissed off and just pulled them hard straight towards me and POP they came out. Same getting them in. It does feel like your gonna break them but it worked for me!

After uncliping plug to globe, simply turn anticlockwise 1/4 turn and it will pop out.

thats what i thought, felt like i was going to break it though - think i'll have another crack at looking for the screw maybe or twisting it 1/4 turn

Well i gave it a shot and it felt like i was going to break it... infact i did, haha the black angled top part that the screw goes through to attach the top to the body under the bonnet. Just for future reference for anyone else trying to remove these for the first time you need to apply force in a forward direction. Meaning you need to be at the front of the car looking at the headlights and pull towards you. I aroldited the crap out of the thing and it should hold okay... Cheers peeps
