1. Shirts:

Timeframe too tight to get nice workshop style shirts. Maybe next year. Can do polos instead?

BMT logo in front with 'Autosalon 2003' - Skyline GT logo with SAU URL and 'Victoria' on back. Dark blue or black polo shirt - Sound OK?

Art will be screenprinted - cost under $20 per shirt (for 20 units). Will post an example when I get the BMT logo.

2. Power:

On the form - says $300 clams for 3-phase. If we are going to have AV gear - we need this. Just an FYI :D

3. BMT support & flyers:

On the form, I noticed this: Are not permitted to conduct any business activity including buying/selling transactions, the display or distribution of promotional materials such as business cards, brochures, banners, FOR SALE or company/promotional signs.

James - what's the go on this? Are we allowed to have flyers? Or do these rules only affect individual entrants?

Which leads to - printing costs. Do you need quotes on DL flyers? Do we want banners (SAU or just the URL). I will get some quotes if you like.

4. AV

I am getting a final quote on everything. We can then work out our budget - and adjust the stand accordingly ;)

We need another 4 PS2 consoles and GT3 game CDs. If you can help - please PM me.

That's all for now - will keep you informed.

James

so far not many people here in SAU are as enthusiastic to enter their cars as many other people have been

come on guys its nearing the end of the week and we only have a small handfull og cars from SAU

i dont want to here cries and moans afterwards of "oh, how come THAT car got in...mines better"

sh|t like that

well that's what will happen. People will whine AFTER the event.

Mines not the most riced out car, infact it has NO RICE... but it's still going.

Also on the PS2 bit... i don't mind people using it (general public) but how we gonna stop the from stealing the controllers and stuff because i can see that happeneing somehow.

Re: PS2 - a remarkable invention called 'cable ties' :P

You wrap them around the unit (not accesible to joe-public) and you can secure the controller to it. Not NSA type stuff - but should do.

Any anyway, if we supervise - it should be fine. Will be cool.

wat if they get damaged?

Sorry for the Q's but i do like my controllers in once piece.

rotational supervision is a must. casue i reckon someone would chop it off and just use it for spare parts.

I just think outside the square a bit... comes from the childhood... *rollseyes*

I guess there is no guarantee of things not getting damaged. Even the cars...

I guess we just need to supervise - and be vigillant. I like the 'roster' idea. Will be a good way to do it.

we gotta make up a "that's sick" meter... like every time we make a muzza/mario/habib go "that's sick" we get a point. Winner is the person at the end fo the day with most points

Hey good one.. or count the amount of commondoor owners who come over and go "my fullsik stock commondore can do 11's.. skylines are shit mayte"

You guys gotta have stickers or flyers or some shit made up! I mean if you're gonna have a stand, may as well make the most of it like. Like some b.s. FAQ's - "What is skylines australia", "who are we", "what do we do", "when do we meet", "who is allowed to join (well anybody)".. all that blah shit. Fark.. if u guys want it done let me know ASAP and i'll photocopy off like 100 or something here at work

    • Yeah kids certainly add a whole another dimension to your life.  Life ceases to be about you and more about them for a while!  And I wouldn't have it any other way.  I love watching them play sport and make new friends along the way. Wow, sounds like your mate is a good guy to know!!!  He's got some serious toys in the toy box!  Yes it would be lovely to be able to do stuff to your car without getting all tied up in boring shit like how to pay for it!!  I would describe my spending style as "aggressively spontaneous and logical but regrettable purchasing"....  That will hopefully make no sense at all which would be appropriate given that is how I buy stuff.  I'll decide at the drop of a hat that I'm buying something expensive, research the living shit out of it for 2 days straight then go out and buy it.  Then I'll have instant buyers remorse for 2 days which generally passes by the time it turns up on the front step!  If I'm feeling ballsy sometimes I'll tell my wife.  Other times it just makes its way silently passed the house and out the back to the shed, never to be spoken of again...
    • My extinguisher mounted like this unscrewed a little (Maybe from the chair sliding forward) and dumped a bit of white on my mats. I'll need to get a more narrow one for future.
    • I totally couldn't do the whole kids taking up my life thing! 😮 I find it bad enough doing 45 hours in 4 days, and then fitting normal adulting life into the other 3 with no kids! As for my mates race cars, they're AMG C63 setup for production racing. The original is what has just been stripped and a brand new shell built. The original is then going away to have some panels straightened, then it will be put back together again. Then there's a third that will shortly head off to have a roll cage put in, then build it up too. And potentially a fourth to be built too... Oh, and he has two Renault Clio D class production cars, ha ha. And when he's not racing them in the Australians and QLD production championships, he's been racing one of Chaz Mostert's Lamborghini's in GT4. They just won GT4 at the 12 hour in the Lambo. We're pushing to finish the new AMG as it has its first round (and potentially its first shakedown/outing) in under w weeks for Round one of QPC, and that round is really the shakedown to make sure it's all good for the Bathurst 6 hour, which I'll be at too. Ha ha ha Working on my project is different to his, I slowly tinker and work ways to make things happen on a shoe string budget. Hes in a good position that he has a massive workshop full of parts and tools, ha ha. He also looks after me. When his air compressor died, he just needed it working, so bought himself a new one and gave the old to me. Sand blaster unit too, and a 20t pressing. And pretty much all the shelving in my shed too as he upgraded all of his (the stuff he gave me is the expensive black Bunnings heavy duty stuff)!   I enjoy working on his stuff. No decision paralysis, and anything that's needed parts wise is just there. Plus, then I get to be hands on at the track in real racing, not just club day stuff.
    • I know which one I'd prefer to have in my garage, and which one I'd actually drive as intended
    • Yeah mate, no probs. Just swap the email addresses?
