ahh the new corvette does use pushrods. There is nothing really wrong with pushrods either.

apart from higher reciprocating mass and limited flexibility for valve and timing arangements such as variable valve timing and multiple valve configurations.

its main advantage , smaller size , is not realy an issue in a smaller capacity forced induction or high output NA engine either

There are a few cars here in Australia that we Americans don't have, like the list indicated.

But in American we have a few cool in the BMW 3series line.

Cars under the OEM non turbo....Honda.....Acura TL....278HP 4 Door, Acura 4 Door 300HP; Nissan Infinite....GT35 ...298HP 2 doors, GT35 4 Doors 305HP; Toyota...Lexus..IS350...305HP.

All of these cars can have a single or twin turbo or supercharges add to them.

The price for these cars start $29K to under $40K.

In America you can purchase a BMW 335i Twin turbo>> 300HP&300FT for only $48000 walk out the door price<<<.

But I am so damn happy to be in OZ driving my 1996 GTS SII liner.

My American car was an Acura 2004 TL with a supercharger, CB, drop on OZ 19" wheels.

^^^

it's crazy how much beemers cost here, and even though the import tarrifs are so low now here imported new cars are still expensive it seems.

Oh well i wouldn't trade anything in australia for cheaper cars.

Cars currently available for sale that I'd love to see on Australian roads:

JDM Honda Civic Type-R

JDM Honda Integra Type-R

Caterham Superlight and CSR

Vauxhall VX220 (Turbo)

Pontiac Solstice

Nissan Skyline (V35 and V36)

Ford Mustang

Dodge Charger SRT8

I couldn't afford one but it would be nice to see a Carrera GT and a McLaren SLR on the road over here.

i'm pretty sure that motor magazine took a carrera gt for a strap through the NT to test out it's top speed, but i'm not sure. i will have to find the mag.

there are quite a few v35 skylines in australia

Yep, I know.

I misread the thread as being "cars you want but your country's local divisions of car OEMs won't import" rather than "just can't get".

Otherwise, we can technically get any car in this country as long as we're willing to pay for it...and get a CAMS racing license and use it as a race only import.

How about cars I would prefer we WEREN'T Allowed?

Commodores (Especially VL's)

Falcon Utes

Done.

Every time you read about a P plater crashing and killing his 27 friends who were in the car, its a commodore driver.......every time you read of a P plater doing 240 through a school zone, its a commo driver.........

Nuff said.

uninformed reply of the year goes to

Care to explain what was 'uninformed' about it? I don't like commodores or falcons. Thats not a matter of being informed or not, its a matter of opinion.

That dickheads drive all makes and models and you've got your head in the sand or up your ass.

Right up there next to commodores and falcons in the confiscated list was....... you guessed, Skyline.

You must live in Boganville if Falcodores headline the "young driver menace" articles in your local rag.

In most major cities its grey imports that hold the pride of place when it comes to driving at stupidly high speeds through metropolitan streets.

Yeh, I have some Aussie friends who post here, and are always linking me to these forums, so I figured if I was gonna read all the posts anyways I might as well reply. This is the "General Automotive Discussion" forum is it not?

I'd also like to add the Toyota Chaser to my list.

yes this is the general automotive discussion.............for skylines AUSTRALIA ok

This has to do with this thread how? There are many international members of this forums and they can post where they wish.
