Hey guys, my exh manifold stud-nuts keep getting loose every 3 or so months, and i have to keep tightening them, and today one fell loose altogether, and i have to buy a new nut to cover the hole!, is there ones i can replace these with to make them much tighter a fit?

anyone know what size nut im gnna need, and any pointers to keep it from looseing so often, ive heard its a problem with the rb engines......and is there any reason why it may happen?and would it also cause missing, whiooch seems to be the sign before it goes loose!

thanks in reply

What you have said doesn't really make sense..

A new nut to cover the hole? Sounds as if the stud has broke and fell out?

They won't come loose if you are using the correct nuts, conical washers and have torqued them correctly.

Or use some new lock type nuts (the factory type lock ones dont work so well after a long period of time) it wont come loose again. Just dont use nylocks.... ive seen it done :)

Locktite is the stuff to get :) good luck drive to autobarn or whereever and say i need some locktite for exh manifold stud or adhesive and they will point you in the right direction and done no more loose then

are you guys kidding... next you'll be suggesting gaffa tape and cable ties.

replace your studs, washers and nuts. and new manifold gasket. a complete kit costs about 120 bucks from nissan and several hours of skinned knuckles and cursing. otherwise, get a workshop to do it.

RB's have a long manifold with a turbo hanging off them. the studs weaken and break over the years. you need to renew them.
