I have a R33 GTR V-Spec and a R33 GTS-T Series II so I think that I can respond to your question.

The GTR is an adrenaline rush every single time that you drive it. It has grip levels that most cars can only dream of. In every area it has performance in reserve (power, handling, braking and grip) for whenever you need it. The car demands your respect and you have to concentrate whenever you drive it. Last but not least you always seem to have you hand in you pocket paying for something on the GTR.

By comparison the GTS-T is a street car with good performance, although I have never been shut down by a Holden of a Ford (although I have not tried a XR6 Turbo). It is a much easier car to drive because you do not have to consciously hold it back. It still does everything well in the power, handling and braking areas but it does not have the amazing grip levels of the GTR. The running costs are also much lower and it makes a perfect daily driver.

They are both very different animals and I enjoy driving each of them for what they offer.

ah i did that step. from r33 gtst series 2 to a r32 gtr. its worth it!!

i find that they are the same maintenance wise, petrol is about 20bux more ontop.. repairs wise, if something breaks in a gtr you better have deep pockets. take care of the car and it will take care of you.. hopefully haha

gtst is great to learn in , i probaly wouldve killed myself if i went straight to a gtr

I went from 32 gtst to 32 gtr.

greatest nissan decision ever made, thought not the most efficient. Main reason why... i suppose i was sick of getting raped by sr20's and always felt envious for gtr's passing me.

The GTR is like no other car you have driven before, the stability levels are so much higher, control, power, comfort... its just a compilation of driving experiences u get when your in one.

If you want to upgrade, buy a trench coat with lots of pockets.

Apart from that have fun in one and be safe, a whole new world compared to the gtst.

just the feedback i was after tbh! I was considering going with the GTT but, yea it's not really an upgrade compared to going down the road of the 32/33 GTR. (can't afford 34 GTR)

I reckon GTR's will always hold there value more than even newer modeled single turbs. already 32 gtr's are getting even with GTT's in price!

Plus when ya m8's have silvias u gotta get some advantage over them! i'v got a test drive in a 33GTR soon, although still considering 32 gtr. whichever provides the best example in my path i will go for!

I was at the point of buying a R34GTT with a Nismo kit when I found my R33 GTR V-Spec.

The challenge with a GTR is to find a good one, otherwise you will always have your hand in your pocket. It is not uncommon for people to have engine failures on the day after purchasing a GTR that then results in a $8 to $10 k rebuild.

Make sure you get a good one.

different strokes i guess. My limited driving experience with the gtr leaves me a little cold fish. As a daily I dont think I could live with it. A low speed under steer pig is one description I heard and I found it quite apt. If we lived life in the fast lane it would be a completely different story. The gtr comes in to its own when the pace picks up and the driver is experienced enough or brave enough to get the awd system to actually work. Below that threshold the gtr to me is a very ordinary heavy front end car to drive.

The gtst is a far more enjoyable car to punt around in and can be modded to perform extrememly well at the strip and track to boot. There are creds that come with owning a gtr and deservedly so. For me however I am quite happy to play both at the strip and track and then have a nicer street driver as well.

I always aspired to a gtr and when the time came to buy a line i wasnt even considering a gtst. After driving a few tho I was more than happy to go with the gtst and use the savings for mods.

I can always stick a gtr badge on my gtst tho cant I. :D

    • Nah, you failed to pay your washer cover subscription and BMW have revoked your access.
    • Haha thanks Lith,  So it's currently working quite well and the torque reduction is setup and working phenomenal. It also got a custom torque convertor from All Fast in WA. Stall speed somewhere around 5500rpm unlocked but still with the lockup. The car went back onto the dyno after a 3yr hiatus (even with the dbw, and other mods completed in this time) managed to make ~515kw at all 4 hubs. Sean setup the Torque reduction which now sounds awesome and working well. We setup adjustable torque controlled launch control aswell.  Man what a feature. Especially when drag racing on street tyres I Managed to get out to the drags late last year and tick a huge bucket list item off of running mine and the cars first 9. Car went a 9.98 @142 Still had the young fellas car seat in the back aswell.  This was on 255/40/17 Nankang AR-1.  Currently the Turbolamik is still completing it's own torque calcs and managing shift times from there. Unfortunately emtrons can export is still a little restrictive to export the ecu calculated torque just yet but I have recently been suggested a work around that I just haven't had a chance to trial yet.
    • Yeah its bad eh. Ey! Watch your mouth. Yep, spot on. The rear's are always gone too though from brake checking. I had them perilously close to a tree that we had taken down. I think the tree peeps may have taken it. Either for a trophy, or accidentally.
    • f**kin' yikes! That insulation is the shittest stuff I have ever seen. You need to do an insurance job on that f**ker, pronto. WRT to the washer cover, I would have said that there'd have to be some at a wrecker, then remembered that it's a BMW, and reasoned that every single wrecked one would have been tailgating and so the front end would be trashed.
