R33 Indicator Problems

Hey sorry if this have been covered but i cant find it if it has.

I have a S1 r33 gts-t and recently the indicators have been playing up.

Example: I will indicate left, and the indicator comes on fine, then when I complete my turn/ lane change and it clicked back as it should. But up on the dash the arrow is still flashing, and it still flashes on the outside of the car. Usually I can "fix" it by indicating the other way for a second. This happens probably every second time i use the indicators and it only happens for the left one.

One time it just completely locked on the left, no flashing, nothing, just a solid arrow on the dash and the orange indicator on the outside was a solid orange light, even though I had physically placed the indicator switch in the center as it should be.

Can anyone help? Has this happened before or is my car just a one off thing?

a short in the wiring somewhere check where wiring runs through firewall etc and make sure there are no bared bits and its not rubbing against metal.

could also be a faulty indicator stalk on the column
